Completely with Butt on this one. Been absolutely blown out of proportion. Racism, sexism, crowd violence wouldn't get half as much publicity and nearly even as negative press. It's mad
It`s not like we didn`t turn up for a league game against Blackburn once, like .... oh yes, Boro!
And Gibson was at the helm. Let he who with out sin cast the first stone !

There are weirdos and trolls in every club…usually a tiny minority. I feel sorry for Hull and their fans….our position is taking up all the air space (though of course they are welcome to some of ours). Must affect their training to a certain amount. As far as I’m concerned, if not us…go Hull!
Agreed, if not us then Hull. Still doesn't mean I've got any respect for them whatsoever. I'm genuinely up for building a siege mentality around the club.

One of my WF Boro lads claims they have evidence of spying on Millwall, Norwich and Bristol City. This comes from a Saints analyst sacked in December. If I remember correctly, we lost two of those matches, drew two and won two. Not a great haul from spying!

Norwich have already dismissed the claims.

Yeah, I don't think you can read too much into this at all. I would say the following:

1. The EFL could just postpone the final now (you could argue that would theoretically be the fairest thing for all parties) but there are probably all sorts of practical reasons (stadium availability, the required police presence, road closures etc etc) why they don't want to do that unless they absolutely have to.
2. The EFL don't want to rule any punishment in or out or say anything of much substance because the panel deciding the punishment is independent and they don't want to be seen to be interfering in the process.
3. The hearing isn't going to take place until next Tuesday and there's no guarantee the decision will be published that day. The EFL can see that it's not practical to start selling tickets so close to the game. At the same time, if we are kicked out they don't want a load of fans claiming for travel or hotel costs.

So basically they're covering their arses.

My position remains the same in that if they DO decide to kick us out, the appropriate follow-up to that decision would be to promote Hull automatically, not to reinstate Boro.

I agree with this, mainly for point No2.

The EFL have to pretend that they don't know what the independent panel are going to do with us.
So to keep their little pretence going they've put out the statement to imply they haven't had any input and have to have the expulsion option on the table just in case.
The ****ers have known what was going to happen as soon as they saw the picture of that little scrote not trying to hide behind a tree. There probably never has been an independent panel anyway. Those sadistic pricks at the EFL have just been going into work to hold a group chat about what a laugh it all is and how long they can keep it going before they tell us.

The whole sporting integrity makes you laugh.

Not sure if it was someone on here who said similar, but you have state-owned clubs, dodgy sponsorship deals, teams selling their women's teams to themselves, players diving, managers jumping up and down at the fourth officials, betting sponsorships, financial doping, selling hotels at over-inflated prices, time wasting, surrounding the referees, etc etc etc.

All to try and gain a sporting advantage.

Yeah the spying was wrong, embarrassing, and I wish we hadn't done it, but it's faux outrage. Let's not pretend like this is an honourable sport played by honourable people or clubs. It's not.

Thing I keep coming back to.

Is a kid with an iPhone on a few occasions worse than blatantly ignoring the financial regulations in place for three years, winning the Championship title as a result, then not cooperating with the investigation into that.

If you think it is, your head has gone. If it isn't, then the worst they should punish us with is a 6 point deduction.

Just a bit of perspective,
