They won't have the gonads to kick them out and a fine is inconsequential

Southampton intern William Salt has been named as the spy caught at Middlesbrough’s training ground before their two playoff legs.

He used a card to buy a coffee at the golf club, it seems they're going to check his card transactions to see if he's been near other training grounds for previous games.

Other teams may also have been spied on, which aggravates the issue and means perhaps they need to hold another hearing, but they have to deal with Southampton's transgression in a way which punishes them now and provides some redress for the wronged party. A forfeit 3-0 victory for Boro in the first leg solves the pressing problem.

Good point, demote Southampton out of the play offs and replace with Wrexham. There's a film in there somewhere <laugh> <laugh> <laugh> <laugh>

Canada's womens team did it at the Olympics and FIFA punished them. FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld it on appeal. This isn't something that the EFL have just made up as a silly rule.
