I think we played better when Talbis on the left and Traore on the right it gives us more balance and outlets.
Brobbey needs supply
Le Fe is wasted on the flanks as is Rigg.
Diarra is off it so Le Fe playing behind/off striker,or Rigg.
RLB please stop mucking around with back four and play players in there natural positions.
One last thing why oh why are we not having shots outside of the box instead of trying to walk it in.
Agree with that first line and shows is where we need to strengthen. That and Enzo middle.

Can’t shake the disappointment off, was an awful watch, embarrassing actually and it’s not often I criticise the lads but I can’t defend that performance.
They need to take the criticism on the chin and prove people wrong next week.
Enzo needs to play in the Diarra role, he needs dropping. Get young Talbi in on the left, he’s our best option out there.
To all the sad mags who are laughing at the result, thanks for the 6 points

What I quite enjoyed (and will take some credit for starting it near me) was the "oles" we did after Forest fans were doing it.
Shows the daft gallows humour of the core Sunderland fans who don't take life too seriously.

As for the 15,000 who ****ed off early? Well, guess we're going to get a few day trippers who didn't go in the dark times. Is what it is.
I don't go over anymore, but know plenty who do and they also went during the league one years. Its just people's personalities I think.

'It was like a punch in our face

Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris speaking to Sky Sports: "The big difference in intensity is clear. We started ok but then progressively we felt that they were more involved, intense, pragmatic.

They pressed well and we were unable to build up under this pressure and the momentum shifted at that moment. They were clinical, they scored four goals in the first half. It was like a punch in our face."

"We gave away many fouls and we gave the opponent the opportunity to be strong in their set pieces, they had seven corners in the first half which is massive. We didn't defend well before we gave the opportunity to be dangerous in our box.

"Our fans were intense, even at 4-0, and we were not. We reacted a bit during the second half, tried to change the dynamic a bit but it was too late. It is a strong reminder, we drop our standards maybe 10% and we were punished, which was the case today. We were not at their level, no excuses."
I think he sums it up well, I thought we were decent, for the first 15 minutes, their first goal was lucky, their second was stupid from us. They were not 2 goals from them playing quality football.
However what it did was give them so much confidence and knocked the stuffing out of us and for the next 5 minutes they totally capitalised and punished us. Then at 4-0 down the energy just drained from us.
I'm not making excuses, we were ****, simple as. I do think though if those first 2 preventable goals dont go in do we lose the game, because the game was lost in the 5 minutes of madness that follows

A big difference between the two teams yesterday was the quality of ball into the box. They put a lot of quality in that we struggled to defend against and they kept picking up the pieces.

Our final ball from crossing positions is generally poor and when we do get a good ball in we have very little in terms of players who will attack it. We need to improve this going forward. With quality delivery we could have capitalised two or three times in the opening period but our crosses are too easy to defend.

I really don't get how tactically inept Reg came across yesterday to not react to the situation? Was it him punishing the senior lads bringing Riggy off? If so, why not bring a striker?

It stuns me because I think he's class.

But conceding 5 at home is just ridiculous unless its Man City.

If we played like we did against City at home, we would have murdered them, but we didn't.

Are the lads worn out? Are we void of ideas? Are our tactics a bit basic and easily fought against?

9 goals in two games is very bad, imagine the team for Wolves will be massively different, O9 probably back in.

Our lack of wingers sometimes kills us in games. Brobbey has been anonymous for two games now.

I would have Rigg central next game, get Talbi and Mayenda in.
Nexy game for me we keep Rigg right (for now), Talbi left, Le Fee middle, drop Diarra. Sadiki was also poor last night mind. We also looked better with Reinildo back on.

We started the game well, but literally gifted them 4 goals - 2 of them by not picking up the receiver at corners. Sadiki fell asleep.

Roefs clearly at fault for another, but it's the first mistake I remember him making all season, so he's probably due one.

I thought after the first goal we looked tired mentally, as if the long campaign had finally caught up with us. It got to a stage where I was praying for the half-time whistle on 35 minutes. It's been a long hard season, where our players have excelled themselves, but due to a small squad size, we have been unable or unwilling to rotate and it's beginning to show. I've upped the amount of summer signings I thought we would need from 4 to 7, to enable rotation to happen.

After all of our excellent signings in the summer, it was those who played last season who were probably our best on the night. Thought Wilson was excellent when he came on.

All in all, a bad night at the office. We move on. FWIW here are my ratings:

Roefs 3, Mukiele 3, Hume 6, Ballard 5, Aldarete 3, Xhaka 5, Sadiki 4, Diarra 3, Rigg 6 (scapegoat), Le Fee 4, Brobbey 3, Mandava 5, Isidor 8.

The crowd 8. The fans were brilliant last night, except for a few people who forgot how good these players have been all season and decided to boo them, which is why I deducted a mark. Thankfully, probably after seeing Xhakas reaction, the rest of the crowd started applauding and cheering.

Sadiki seemed to go off the boil after his hand was accidentally stood on. Every single player on the pitch underperformed though, the likes of Sadiki and Xhaka can have a pass though for the next game because theyve been consistently good all season.
Diarra on the other hand is a complete waste of space but still gets picked every game which is highly annoying. Le Fee in the middle and Talbi out wide needs to be the team going forward but Diarra will probably once again play again next week.

Anything been said about Mukiele arguing with the fans at half time? Seemed like he just reacted to some of the booing at the whistle. Was poor from him to react in that manner considering the scoreline but it does always piss me off when fans boo at half time so kind of see his point.

If id had taken my lads last night it would have probably cost me around 150-200 quid for tickets, travel, food and drink etc. Id have boo'd too if id have had to sit through that

Competitive effort levels deserved a boo last night mind. Outfought by some margin which isnt good enough

I don’t mind it. Shows he cares. Not the first time it’s happened and it’s because he cares and doesn’t want fans to think he doesn’t.

He’s a superb player Nordi and he has big expectations. Regis has squashed it anyway, we move on.

I’ll take 11 Nordi arguing with fans and showing some hurt over 100 Gordon’s bleating for a move cos he’s outgrown a club scoring penalties.

I noticed he didn't bother waiting to shake hands with anyone at the end of the game. Just went straight down the tunnel. So was clearly pissed off. I didn't know something had happened at half time, just thought he was pissed off with the whole performance and wanted to get back in the dressing room asap.

I love Nordi, he's been a great signing, but had an off night.
