You know I think some of the comments are a bit out there.

Was 15 mad minutes. We started well and even at 4-0 lads kept pushing and trying.

Forest were ruthless and credit to them for that but anyone saying this was downed tools or anything didn’t watch the same game as me.

We should have scored before them. They get an own goal and an error from Roefs and we lose our heads for 20 minutes.

We recovered after that, there was heart and pride for sure.

It’s an absolute stun to get a pasting like that but let’s not post fake narratives in anger and frustration.

Wipe our chops, move on, remember where we have come from and what these lads have achieved.

Just back home and not angry or upset in any way.

We had a freak 10 minutes and got punished. Type of thing that happens once every few seasons.

Cant be angry with these lads for 1 bad game theyve been superb all season

Thought the fans were good today stayed with the team. Well the ones that stayed anyway.

The players don't deserve a massive walkout this season so glad a good amount stayed and made it clear we are with them.

Finally **** does occasionally happen just gotta deal with it.
Well said marra, the Premier League is brutal and relentless especially for clubs without a established and depth squad, like you say this s*** happens to nearly every club at least once a season, we move on, still been a brilliant season

Couldn't agree more. One of these games, move on and react against Wolves

What I quite enjoyed (and will take some credit for starting it near me) was the "oles" we did after Forest fans were doing it.
Shows the daft gallows humour of the core Sunderland fans who don't take life too seriously.

As for the 15,000 who ****ed off early? Well, guess we're going to get a few day trippers who didn't go in the dark times. Is what it is.

I think we played better when Talbis on the left and Traore on the right it gives us more balance and outlets.
Brobbey needs supply
Le Fe is wasted on the flanks as is Rigg.
Diarra is off it so Le Fe playing behind/off striker,or Rigg.
RLB please stop mucking around with back four and play players in there natural positions.
One last thing why oh why are we not having shots outside of the box instead of trying to walk it in.

think there are times where you need to be pragmatic. Early on it was clear that Forest were pressing use high and they were very good at it, yet we continued to play out from the back and invite pressure. In those situations there is no harm in going long for 10 mins just to take the pressure off, that 2nd goal was coming a mile off and to be fair we’ve been flirting with conceding like that for a while. Doesn’t mean there has to be an overhaul of the system, just adapt to the situation.

As for going gung-ho with Ballard and Alderete up front in injury time, that was just naive
Exactly marra, noticed that myself early on, could of eased the pressure by going long for a while but we growing and will learn from these situations

No real X factor and not enough killers in the final third

Chances are squandered mostly through wrong decision, with a love of overplaying, or running into each other through youth and naivety.

As said in earlier comments, ELF has been put on the left as he’s trusted and there’s ’no available options’

He’s our most creative player and arguably 6/10 most weeks, just put him central. He’s basically been there for his entire tenure here which either says something about our recruitment or our luck with injuries.

It’s the same for putting a right footer right back at left back and a centre mid at right midfield in front of a marauding Mukiele.

Footballs bonkers because we could have taken last night on the chin had Diarra scored that chance against Villa.

Small margins and that’s what the data shows, we’ve landed on the positive side of these small margins for the most part but the margins are thin enough to land either side. Consistency is built upon widening those margins.

Shocking how many left early. I get leaving a bit early in that scenario but before half time?

I honestly think if Dans goal counts we get at least one more, I doubt we’d have recovered of course but the lads were still going.

Just a mad turn of events and credit Forest for being so clinical. Thought their fans were a decent bunch as well.

We will have a bit more in final third next season.

I thought we played well second half but it was done and dusted in the first half
I think it’s easy to play when you’re 4 down and forest had no intention of attacking. Would have been interesting if that goal stood. Hopefully it was just a freakish 10 mins and we don’t see similar in the next couple

We were marginally better team until they scored (although they had had a strong 5-6 mins)

I do wonder why we don’t play Talbi, who’s been impactful, and get Enzo, our most creative player, in the middle where he is far better.

Agree, I thought we started off well until the mental crumble. We were so poor from set pieces. I’d put diarra on the bench and bet talbi back in. I do think we’ve missed traore as well. Tslbi is a weird one, he’s in for a few then we don’t see him for weeks

100% mate.

Diarra really will be a fresh start next season and I have no doubt he be valuable.

Enzo has earned a right to play in his best position.

Going to be an absolutely massive summer. Wont get a better chance to establish ourselves with who could come up. I trust the higher ups wont let us coast

I’ve never stopped going since the 74/75 season and seen loadsa shyte and always had the gallows humour. Last night it pissed me off and thought it was a piss take of the players, I even moaned to the lads after when we were having a pint and remembering the wonderful game we’d just watched. Anyway I was the only ****a moaning cos everyone else had your opinion. I’m over it now and the mood has gone. Back to not taking life too seriously. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Maybe they eased off in the second half but we controlled it (2nd half) and were the best side.
If you look at the stats for the second half it was almost all us.
It was a rotten 30 minutes in the first half where bad luck and poor play by us gave them 4 goals, their 5th goal was always a possibility when we were in their half most of the time.
We haven’t suddenly become a bad team, these things happen. (I didn’t want Europe anyway)
