We do not have to sell anyone, however we may choose to sell someone if it allows us to complete other deals to acquire players. The good point for us is that we do not have to sell so if someone wants one of our players they are going to have to pay a handsome price.
I'm quite happy to let the club make the decisions in this transfer window, after all they haven't done too badly to date

Sunderland face a mounting battle to keep hold of midfielder Enzo Le Fee, with TEAMtalk sources confirming that several English clubs fighting for Champions League qualification are keen on him, including Liverpool.

The 24-year-old has been a standout performer for the Black Cats this season, helping to drive their impressive campaign and earning widespread admiration for his technical ability, vision and composure in midfield.

However, sources close to the situation insist the Merseysiders will not have a clear run. Other leading Premier League sides with European ambitions are also monitoring developments closely, creating a competitive market that could test Sunderland’s resolve.

Sources have also hinted that Sunderland are willing to offer lucrative new contracts to their most important players in order to strengthen their hand. Le Fee fits into that category, as does Noah Sadiki, and we will share an update on his future later today.

Fans will be hoping the club can hold firm. Le Fee has become a favourite on the terraces, his energy and creativity embodying the resurgence at Sunderland.

Le Fee is very happy at Sunderland, but sources close to the player have stated that the opportunity to move to one of the Premier League’s elite sides would be hard to ignore

Left Lorient and didn’t have a great time

Had a big time move to Roma and it didn’t work out

Came to Sunderland to work with RLB who he has a long term personal relationship

I doubt he’d be so easily swayed

With all these rumours about our players just shows what an incredible job the recruitment team has done. I may be wide of the marl here, but IF the Saudi's put an unbelievable offer in for Diarra ( I will add I don't want him to leave) and he goes....then I think the club just may rebuff all other offers for other players. But the thought that le Fee, Nordi, Sadiki and Brobbey could be snapped up would be gut wrenching

Sadiki has a contract until 2030, so it's not really just up to Chelsea and the players agents.

Enzo contracted until 2029 and loves it here.

Every player has a price and we have played a blinder with the signings, the fee for either of them would need to be massive.

I think it's going to be a really interesting window.....not that we didn't have one last year! :emoticon-0102-bigsm
We have about 14 players out on loan,of whom I reckon we'll only want 3 or 4 back to us. If we somehow manage to keep this squad together.....which I don't think we will....I think there are a few on the bench who will want to play......we will arguably need an additional 3 or 4 first team ready players to come in.
As far as our current first team is concerned, there are a number of issues imo.
Will players stay to fulfill the project outlined by KLD to Xhaka and forwarded on to Nordi amongst others? We would hope so given the season we've had,at least for another year.
Players will always be tempted by money, and we aren't able to compete with the big boys in that regard. They will also be tempted by competing at the top of the league and by European football. If Liverpool come in with a substantial offer for, say,Enzo, will his loyalty to RLB and his belief in our future stay solid, will our ambition hold firm,or will we cash in,and,if we start doing that, what does that do to the project?
Will we be a selling club again...and/or...is our recruitment going to be outstanding again?
It's definately going to be fascinating to see how we deal with the situation we find ourselves in come the end of the season.

Wales star Harry Wilson is ready to join Aston Villa on a free transfer this summer.

The attacking midfielder has been a long-term target for the Villans and they believe they are set to win the race to take the 69-cap Welsh star. Villa boss Unai Emery wants to add to his attack ahead of next season and believes Wilson would suit his team's style of play.

And it will give the 29-year-old the European football he is desperate for, with Villa on course for a Champions League place.

Now, while it's understood Wilson will wait until the end of the season before announcing any decision, he is expected to move to Villa Park, especially if Villa secure a place at European football's top table. Villa are willing to double the 29-year-old's wages, with a deal worth £100,000-a-week.
