How many would we take to some far flung corner of europe? Tickets or not they wouldn't know what hit them.

The home game against Chelsea could be a European decider in my opinion.

They're 2 points ahead of us in 6th having lost 4 of their last 5 games.

They have Man Utd next plus Leeds, Forest and Spurs who'll all be fighting for their lives you'd imagine.

Finishing about Chelsea, on the last day of the season, could be an incredible finale with a packed SOL and lap of honour ...

... what a way to celebrate after trudging around League One when it always seemed to rain.

that would be great mate the stadium would be utterly bouncing hopefully it will happen

Am I right in thinking we are only one point from a Euro qualification spot?

The BBC PL table has for some reason gone to showing five CL spots.

Then Chelsea are sixth in the Europa League place.

The other Europa League spot goes to the FA Cup winners, but if that is Manchester City or Chelsea that place goes to seventh.

The League Cup winners get Conference League, but Manchester City have won the cup, so that make eighth place enough.

Which we are one point from.

I honestly believe Chelsea are shot and we'll finish above them by winning on the last day ...

... if that happens, and other results drop in our lap, we might find ourselves in Europe.

In the meantime the pundits will claim other teams like Newcastle, Fulham and Brighton are 'pushing for Europe'.

Millwall always trot out the 'no one like us' routine but it may actually be true in our case ...

... I honestly believe it's because there are no direct trains between 'the mainland and our little town'.

Too much clart on for self important pundits.

Steve Bruce had a freak end to the season when we shot up the table on the last day ...

... no reason RLB can't repeat that in my opinion.

I can't remember the details, off hand, but it was a real surprise.

I think we won at West Ham, in the final game, and everything else fell into place.
I have poor memory for games but i was at the west ham match .I think we were 13th and west ham were already relegated so it was a walk in the park that day I think we scored three ?and we shot to tenth by a fluke of final day results! My only real memories of the day were that west am was a tip and i was in a beer garden with around 50-60 west ham fans on a bright sunny day and as i looked down the garden i realised how diminutive their fans were .I thought it might have gate crashed an umpa lump convention or id crossed a narnian like gate into Lilliput. I know the area is deprived and nutrition is correlated with height but i had thought modern food excess life would have sorted that out by then.So every time i hear a hammer fan i cannot not see a umpa lumpa!

If City win the FA Cup there wil be an extra place for Europe
if Arsenal win euro there will be an extra place for Europe
If Forest or Villa win the Europa league there spot will go to the team in 8/9th....

we could have 10 teams in Europe next season

A word of caution.
Look at the plight of 'our friends to the North' this Season.

Their relatively small squad has struggled with the huge number of fixtures, and it shows.
And whatever they may have earned from their European ventures they will need to offset against the reduced prize money they are likely to get from the Premier League.

Then there is the 'second Season syndrome', where Clubs that manage to stay up, following promotion, find it hard to replicate this the following season.
Given our set-up I expect us to manage this, but if we are stuck with European Games as well?
Not woth the risk in my view.

Next Season should be a one of 'consolidation'.
And as part of my cautious approach, it's worth remembering that part of our 'Business Model' is to buy youngish players to develope, then sell them on.
So it is reasonable to expect that there might well be some 'outgoings' during the Summer transfer window.

Just clocked the date of that Chelsea fixture mate. 24th May. A year to the day since we beat Sheffield United at Wembley.
Its fate mate….
