No. This is a simple question. Its all relevant. Everything follows O'learys decision.

When the ball is the opponents half, and the back line is between the centre circle and the eighteen yard box where do you think the Keeper should be positioned?

O'leary should have been positioned on the edge of the box before the ball was even played from inside WBA half. Big and bold, controlling his zone of the box and ready to sweep the area outside behind his back line. Do you agree?

When O'leary has failed to carry out the role above what do you think the expectation should be? Do you think he should stay on the six yard box, or leave it and still not manage to travel twelve metres to a ball inside his (?) box creating further confusion?

Do you think O'leary should challenge his own team mate for the a ball effecting their ability to clear the ball?

Why on earth would any keeper be at the edge of their box for this. Watch the highlights, it’s a big up and under from their defender, who’s half way inside the WBA half, all the players are pretty much in between there and the same place in our half, no way a keeper is on the edge on their box from that position.
If we believe what you’re saying, then Pring should have seen this, as he’s running back facing the keeper, so should have headed it out - end of story.
Nobody is saying Max is blameless here, but to say Pring isn’t also at fault is just laughable….

Max’s position before is irrelevant, my question to you is straight forward, regardless what happened previously when Pring found himself in the position to head the ball was it ok to do it in such a way he took max completely out of the picture and give the forward an open goal, or should he have put it out for a corner.

Lots of situations develop during a game, players have to react to the situation they find themselves in not worry about what happened previously.

If in doubt kick it out , it’s really that simple

My instinct from being at the game is Max would have caught it if Pring hadn’t headed it, I’ve just watched it back a couple of times, every day Max would have got to it, so on both counts the fault was Pring. I suggest you take another look.

even i know this and i dont know all that if the sketch is the ball is in the opponents half your team pushes up. midfield up defenders up and keeper up and it they ping one over the top and it reached the box the keepers first because their already there on the edge of the box for this . Doesnt matter if its Ederson Nuer Raya Mr Sweeper Keeper 2025 or O'leary the sketch was thats the keepers ball all day all night 110% nailed on only he was back on his sticks waiting for the bus!!!

Watch the goal, max was about to catch the ball when Pring headed it, that’s all that matters, it’s not a text book, it’s real life. Then to compound matters Pring panics and didn’t clear it properly.

I agree, Imo the only thing Max may have done wrong was not communicating to Cam, but Pring was facing Max so should have been able to see him. In fairness to Pring he’s not really a CB, he’s doing his best, but it’s not his natural position. I don’t think a proper CB like Vyner or Dickie would have panicked like Pring did.

It is a bit unkind to make parallel between the exceptional and the modest, but Ederson, Neuer and Raya would have been positioned on the edge of the box. O'leary generally does similar, more between the penalty spot and edge, and did sweep outside the box Tuesday, which makes this incident remarkable.

But he was still about to catch it before took it out of his hands.

Some of our fans have to have a fall guy, at the moment it’s Max. If he pulled off a worldy they’d still find something to criticise him for. Zak is another target. I really don’t get it.

The point is he didn’t drop a bollock, just that some are so biased against him they’ll blame him regardless.

Personally I don’t think he dropped a bollock, their goal was solely a mix up between Max & Pring.. both going for the same ball and collided with each other end of.. the haters see it differently
 
I refrain from using the word haters, in my ignorance I'll use the word purists on both sides of the coin, I prefer the journo's comment ( But Albion were level six minutes later when Alex Mowatt capitalised on a collision between advancing goalkeeper Max O’Leary and defender Cam Pring to shoot unchallenged into an unguarded net.) and leave it there, I would also say we won 2-1, are 5th in the table and still in with a chance. Up the City!!
