She's only 33 tbf, that's very young for a senior recruitment role in an industry as cliquey as football
Norwich have done well in the South American market generally, tbf. Gabriel Sara and Marcelino Nunez are two others
Also signed Jose Cordoba (Panama) and Onel Hernandez (Cuba), albeit both were playing elsewhere in Europe already
It's a market that we have clearly been exploring more (Welington, Juan signings are evidence of this) so I am happy we are bringing someone with extensive knowledge of it on board.

Take your point though. Just *feels* a bit underwhelming hiring an assistant from Norwich as our new head of recruitment. She’s coming from a club we’d consider ourselves above and getting a promotion doing it. Of course that doesn’t mean she will be a failure or anything, just feels a bit different to our recent Man City hirings
Also I watched Norwich live a few weeks back and their left back Doyle is worth a look. Looked about 2 stone over weight and like he’d been out all night the night before, don’t think I saw him break out into a proper run once. Was literally like watching a load of guys I used to play with/against on a Saturday. We should sign him for the lols. He’s on loan from City as well so suits our criteria
I expect most heads of departments were assistants at some point in their careers. As regards to the Man City hiring they seem to bugger off at the first opportunity so perhaps a different direction is needed.
Her LinkedIn profile says she's been at Norwich 8 years. Started as a "1st team Technical Scout" in 2017 and has been promoted 5 times since. She only became Assistant Head of Recruitment in September last year.
Not sure how directly involved she'd have been with some of that previous recruitment but she's young and has been promoted regularly, which is hopefully a good sign.

Of course and I’m really not writing her off at all. Just as I say feels slightly underwhelming. Maybe she is loyal given that she’s been at Norwich for awhile during a period where they have been unearthing some good players so you’d think she may have got attention from elsewhere if she was really good. Maybe she has and chosen to stay.
As I said before though recruitment is very much a team thing, so hopefully she is a good addition.
