Oof, what a horrible appointment. The bloke has had one management job and failed miserably.

I'll support him completely of course, but it saps the enthusiasm slightly when you're going into a season feeling almost certain that promotion is impossible from day 1.

We waited 4 months for this... It's a worse appointment than Beale, imo
He didn’t fail miserably but ok, he got them to 10th in 22/23 and had his best players sold.

You’ve already deemed him ****e so why pretend you’ll support him?

Had my complaints yesterday about Le Bris but I am excited to see how he adapts to our squad. I would like him to try and control games more here than he did at Lorient, even in his good season they allowed the opposition a lot of the ball which I just don't think suits how our squad should play.

From my point of view though he's a better stylistic fit than Still would've been. And at least he's not Robinson:emoticon-0140-rofl:

It is all about player recruitment though. Don't have to splash the cash but just be a bit smarter.
Assuming he retains the style he had at Lorient, based on the stats I'm comfortable with and quite like how he wants to play in possession - a lot of that comes down to personal taste though.

I dislike the fact that his teams aren't proactive or aggressive pressers of the ball though - I really think that's the best way to utilise our support and in turn give us a competitive advantage at this level.

You'd assume that he wouldn't have been considered otherwise, had a look on Youtube to see if there are any interviews in English but couldn't find anything.

Hope its the case as it will be odd communicating with some of the players and interviews.

So we have waited 4 months for a manager who was relegated last season? We have yet again went for the cheap option to accommodate Dodds and Proctor.

Imagine if we ever showed ambition?
Was just waiting for yes man and we would’ve had bingo here

Mowbray was the same, no?

We say we have learnt from previous mistakes and now take a massive massive gamble on a bloke with little experience and not a very good record. Kind of feels like fans are now just past caring and want someone in, regardless. 5th choice for a reason I suppose...

Anyone else. It's one of those impossible situations where some people would twist if we appointed Pep and he brought Haaland, Rodri & Foden with him

Here you go

Pep - past it and team selection cant be trusted in major finals
Haaland - doesn’t link play well in fact does nowt but score goals
Rodri - more sideways passes than Saracens
Foden - always wants to cut inside

How do you know he was the 5th choice?

Have you seen his teams play, do you watch a lot of french football or just going off Wikipedia

Funny game football, this time last year would of been seen as an unreal appointment. Wouldnt of been my choice following relegation, but this isnt a Beale level appointment imo, no where near. Its different, has risks like every appointment but has a higher reward imo then the likes of heck or lampard. The more time has passed since it broke, the more upbeat Im starting to feel. Possibly because im relieved the search is likely over but do think theres some positives to be had from this appointment. Club needs to give him every chance to be a success.

"Le Bris has a fascinating coaching history, with the 2022/23 campaign representing his first in senior football management. The 47-year-old may be forgiven for developing quite a rosy impression of senior football management based on his experience this season, as his first campaign has been a very positive one thus far, leading Lorient to 28 points from their first 15 games of the season — placing them in fifth at the World Cup break."

"In conclusion, we hope this tactical analysis and scout report has given you a thorough analysis of Régis Le Bris and his tactics with Lorient that have seen the Brittany side start the 2022/23 campaign so well. It’ll be fascinating to watch Lorient grow and evolve as the campaign progresses.

For us, Le Bris has demonstrated an excellent aptitude for the senior football management game in his short time in what is his first senior management position with Les Merlus, and we back him as one to watch as we enter 2023."

Haway the weekend announcement of Le Bris.

The bits posted today about tactics etc makes him seem a good for the squad and how we like to play. Will he be a success? I have no idea, but he will get my full support till he goes.

Over to the recruitment to back him and give him the players to succeed
