Reading the Sunday People this morning (I know but someone's got to do it) there is a piece about Ruud van Nistelrooy.
It says he is keen to get back into the game and he says that he finds the model of a Technical Director/Head Coach (manager) very interesting, with the Technical Director getting the players and the Head Coach (manager) to match this up.

I often find people demanding stability are the same demanding Beale should be sacked ...

... the next man should be supported from the start and given time to succeed or fail.

Not easy I know.

It's absolutely vital that the next appointment is with us for a number of years. We've had instability and constant change now for long enough and look where it's got us. The club need to get the right man in and them, and us, have got to allow the necessary time for him to produce success.
If we have another season of turmoil we'll end up back in the 3rd Division.

My issue mate is this managerial merry go round has to stop and we need some stability sometime. So if we appointing coaches on the basis of doing a short term job in the hope the next one coming in will be better is playing a dangerous game with the clubs future.
Totally agree. Stability is the key to success and giving a head coach time and patience is what we need to do. That being said, one of the main points of the Sporting Director/Head Coach model is that it provides stability and continuity if the Head Coach leaves or needs to be sacked.

Yes it's been a bizarre season but I don't think the squad needs massive changes. I would rather have fewer, quality additions. Striker, defensive midfield, and right wing.

Expect to see us continue to add youngsters across the age groups and fringes of first team. Hopefully we can get build a strong relationship with a few lower leave teams and send players on loan. Carlisle and Harrogate in league 2 probably ideal.

Tin hat on, but if Clarke goes, I don't think we even need a replacement. We've got aouchiche, rusyn, Mundle, ba and watson who prefer the left. As long as we can make up the goals with a more balanced front three (goal scoring striker and right sided forward) I would be happy to see an existing player on the left.

100%, the recruitment needs to be tailored for that formation

That formation you must have a good CDM, or at least a CM with that defensive awareness - your CMs must be able to cover lots of ground

I think the press works really well in a 343 type formation, that's why its popular in German football - can be really aggressive with it

The issue our fans will see is Dodds played that formation and used it for defensive reasons, 5-4-1 (which lets be honest was more of a 5-5-0)

Yeah, agree. Least said soonest mended re last season.
Hope we get Svensson.

100% agree with that, the issue is we have a vocal minority that will demand a manager is sacked as soon as we have a bad run of form. Hopefully this manager can come in for a few yrs and actually build something

This. Give him a 3 year contract and give him next year as a free hit (unless relegation is a serious possibility of course).

Yeah this is it really. Need to replace his output and a lot of other things like his ball carrying numbers but that doesn't necessarily have to come in the shape of a replacement left winger.

I don't disagree but you seem to want to pull the pin on the grenade? I want to know why, is it because there were some mistakes last year or is it because we have had a poor season or maybe you don't like KS. Just trying to find out why you want KLD gone because for me he has done well in general over the last 3 years, sure some mistakes have been made and I am sure there will be more but in general he has steered the club out of legacy contracts and given us an identity again.
I guess I would like to know why you think we need a new owner because when I look at other clubs I see financial problems for many and further problems looming for more, then I see us on a sound financial footing looking to build incrementally towards something (that may or may not be realised) that will put the club in a very good place in seasons to come.[/QUOTE/]
Only some mistakes?
I want the club, my club, to be at the very top but I can see, from previous experience of last owners that the current incumbent has shown only the management are trying to run this business on a shoestring. The list of mistakes in not , as you put it " Some". There are multitudes since January of last year, far to many to list. If you don't believe me, ask the fans groups of look at the minutes from those meeting s and points outstanding for over 1 year.[/

Yes the Neil appointment was the right one...But his contract would suggest it was a half hearted appointment. A one year roll over contract left us wide open to what actually happened with the Stoke thing
The other way to look at is that the club thought he was what we needed but weren't convinced he'd want away at some stage. By having a rolling contract they wouldn't have to pay an extended gardening leave if he downed tools

I think, quite rightly, he can be patient and get a PL job before the end of 2024

We're a big club though, we should be an attraction to any manager to get us back into the Prem.
Which Prem clubs do you think would want him, because personally i dont think any of them would take a risk on him with his limited Premiership managing experience

We were a big club but not anymore. Finances are the key now not fan base so we are larger championship club but financial minnows next to a premiership club or even one with parachute payments.

Yeah true mate, by big club i mean a World class training ground and stadium aswell. Most upcoming managers would surely want to manage a club with what we have. Like you said financially we do seem to be struggling compared to alot of other teams though.

I think we're fine financially. The owners are putting a sensible amount of money into infrastructure while steadily improving the squad.

Seen nothing to suggest any financial woes apart from people grinding an axe about an alleged and likely imaginary loan.
