That's fine investing in Mundle if we have a huge budget but we don't.

We can't keep buying potential in rhe hope they develop, there had to be a balance between potential and the here and now

I'm sure the club have realised that now mate and will look to redress the balance in the summer. The money from sales alone should be enough to invest in 3-4 more experienced heads along with a couple of younger players with limited experience and a couple more 'prospects'. I don't think that the size of our squad is a problem, it's the strength in depth that needs improving, as well as filling the problem areas of strikers and CDM.

I am sick of watching this turgid ****, Dodds thinks we did ok????? FFS man, is he from a different planet?
Glad I’m pissed. Otherwise that “Dodds thinks we did ok” **** might have tipped me over the edge!!

we were ****e. We looked like a team who didn’t give a a ****!! That pissed me off. Same week that one of (probably the) best footballers the club had has died, to have probably 2 or 3 who actually cared, was an insult. To have a Dodds say that is even worse, he can **** off too

I have high hopes for the summer if what i was told yesterday comes true.

I have to believe the owners have seen the mess this season has become and will act quickly to ensure we hit pre season running
I hope so, but like the Exile says, the summer rebuild looks bigger and less likely

Time to take a bit of a look at the season.
The form under TM was not good and I said at the time that I think there was a change in culture and playing style at around about 8 to 10 games in where we started setting up more defensively and we even started playing Trai Hume as an inverted defensive midfielder. This coincided with Mike Dodds having more influence of first team affairs ( did this have anything to do with TM departure I do not know) Then MB came in and we still continued with this defensive approach usually adopting the 2 holding midfielder roles and using Ekwah in a more defensive role when in effect he operates much better in a more attacking role.
Dodds has taken over and from what I can see we are still setting up to not lose games rather than to win them which is frustrating and yesterday was really pissing me off as at times we had 5 defenders and 3/4 holding midfielders who were far to slow to transition into attack which made us toothless up front. Even though we probably created the best chances of the game.
All in all It looks like Dodds is not ready tactically for the top job and I don't know enough about Proctor as a coach to judge him on that but what I can see is that we have a very capable squad lacking real leadership from the head coach and a style which suits their attributes.

That aint working is it.

I can’t pretend to be that arsed about the players looking a bit disconnected in this one.

I get it.

Think the season will prove really valuable despite its ultimate disappointment.

Some flexibility in the recruitment will surely come and that wasn’t happening with another strong season.

We are better than some think, and worse than some think, but we are a handful of players and a good manager for really good.

I’m sticking my neck out and saying Jobe will be dominant next season, we hopefully start with Cirkin and Alese fit, Pembele will be a player after a proper pre season.

Im gonna go and just enjoy Saturday. Obviously I always want us to win but same token I’d love Wednesday to do it, then for us to pinch their gaffer.

Next season will be better, KLD will have learned more from this season than he did last, I remain excited for the future and we will see what summer brings.

Things can change very quickly in football ...

... we were 'falling behind Birmingham' earlier in the season apparently.

If you don't believe Sunderland can/will progress that's just too bad.

I'm already looking forward to next season.

Get the manager appointment correct, and get him in early. Plus add a couple of established championship players to the squad and we will be right up there.

The manager appointment bollocksed up our season way more than the squad shortcomings. For some reason I’m confident we will be much better next season

There’s little doubt in my mind we will improve massively mate.

We all knew we’d punched a bit last season but somewhere that got lost and many thought we’d blast the league to a degree.

We are 2 years out of a long stint in the 3rd and we have put together a side under no threat to drop, that needs a small amount of work to really compete.

We shouldn’t be forgetting League One so soon, and when we remember this the genuine progress becomes more notable.

Well that's another away day season over great to see everyone yesterday a great group of supporters. As for the match Meh highlights supporters entertaining themselves with a beach ball. Bored to tears. Yes we had chances but didnt take them. We don't half miss Dan Neil in midfield. I don't think it's all doom and gloom a new coach and a good transfer window with some experience added to the squad and we will be ready to go again next season. I hope and expect the club to move quickly on all fronts as the negativity both on and off the pitch needs changing quickly. Thanks to Watford for their tribute to Charlie Hurley yesterday a great gesture from them. Its just a pity the passion of the fans isn't replicated on the pitch. Anyway keep the faith lads and lasses. 1 more game and we can look forward and not dwell on this season.

I don't want a couple of established championship players. I want players that are more than good enough for the Championship now but that can grow into good Premier league players.
Greedy so and so me like
