You’ve taken this one on quite the journey haven’t you. Apparently I now have several accounts on here and I’m obliged to comment on other posters in a politically balanced manner.
Still not explained why you honed in on this instance and not others. Never mind. If you can’t offer an explanation…
I honed in on this instance because I thought it was quite nasty. He has suffered quite badly with personal threats to himself and his family and the sort of bile that gets thrown his way on social media adds to the culture. I thought your post was quite typical of the sort of bile that contributes to this. You may not mean real harm, but it’s the unintended consequences of people’s actions that end up with real threats to others.
I actually agree that it’s just as bad to see this sort of thing being aimed at anyone of any politically persuasion, but as I would say to my children, concentrate on your own actions rather than trying to find other people’s actions are equally as bad.
The post was both political & racist & has no place on this board, it had been removed once for that reason.
Considering the increased Islamophobic bile he’s had to endure over the last week, by members of the ruling political party, it can only be assumed that normalising Islamophobia in this way empowers the ignorants to do similar.

Another one who does not object to political posts about other politicians. Do you say criticising a Jewish politician because of their actions is anti semitic? Jewish people are the ones afraid to go out because of the actions of anti semites. No, because we know your attitudes on that. Is a cartoon about Sunak Hinduphobia? Why is it funny that you support Jewish people being bullied? A horrendous thing to admit. Sure, protest against the Israeli army killing 30,000 citizens in Gaza, mostly women and children, but don't take it out on individuals of the same religion in the UK. A dangerous path to head down.

Like my dad’s favourite story about being in the navy. Someone was up for promotion and his commanding officer had written a report which ended “A good officer who has been known to come back on board drunk.” He was incensed and demanded to see him. When asked what was wrong he said it was the word drunk as it could cost him his chance. Alright, said the officer I will alter it. He then rewrote it with the ending “ A good officer who has been known to return on board sober.”
