To add to the Tory ****e, Wellingborough will get a by-election as the votes got the necessary 10% need to trigger a vote. Bone had 18,000 majority.

Rishi "No back Bone" Sunak pledged to lead a government with “integrity, professionalism and accountability at every level”. Bollocks

They see hypocrisy and dishonesty as positive traits amongst themselves, imo.

They think the electorate are too stupid to notice or care and will continue to fool enough dafties amongst us who will continue to be apologists for them.

Mr Rishi 'integrity' Sunak waited until Bone was forced out, by other people, before he reacted ...

... what's that saying about power and corruption <doh>

It would appear this accusation was some 12 years ago, so why has it taken so long.

I expect a low turnout for this one, as they only had 13% of locals register. We already had 3 leaflets from Labour, dropped through the letter box.

That’s a good start anyway, unless it’s because everyone who wanted to be here has already landed :emoticon-0101-sadsm

There was an article on BBC news today about a big operation between the French and British police on the beaches. This maybe something to do with it.
Possibly might be shown at 6pm tonight again.

Clip I saw showed 2 police walking along beach , then another 2 on motorbikes . Then an abandoned dinghy, because police had knifed it - looked to me like one small cut which looked repairable - why didn’t they cut it to ribbons

Good news and winter's here which should help.

I caught a bit of that and thought I heard them say we were giving the French millions more on top of what's already been given ...

... I wonder if the French pass any of that money on to Italy to stop them crossing that border.

If not the French are almost as bad as the traffickers.

It did show them removing a group who had gathered to make the crossing. Which mean they had paid but would have to pay again.

For those escaping persecution, war or whatever it must be an absolute nightmare. It's not like they're coming here for untold riches, more likely a low paid menial job ...

... just shows what a great country this is if they're willing to risk a horrible death to come here.

They interviewed a woman who had fled from Iraq, and was quite distressed, but l didn't catch all of what was said.

If the boot was on the other foot, and the migrants were trying to leave our beaches to get to France, I reckon we'd be a bit lax on border security too. The French will be doing the bare minimum to justify the funding we give them.

Especially if France had decided to turn their backs on us ...

... leaving Europe did us few favours tbh.

We lose sight of the humanity at the political level in my opinion. The fact so many are so desperate is tragic beyond belief. This is the age of AI, yet folk still have such terrible lives they risk the lives of their children.

I am not advocating the UK takes everyone in. But for crying out loud we need a bit more humanity and to reach out the hand of help, along with our friends across the world.

We might just see a general election fought in part on how many people they will stop joining our country. It will be a tasteless example in my opinion.
