my response to that post can be found on the chunk thread (and I had already explained this to smug previously), I have a new job and a new business which has taken up a lot of my awake time. That’s why I’ve not got on and been able to find the **** that’s happened. Yet smug will use it as a stick to beat me with and I’m sick. Only one poster to blame fir this, but he can have his way as far as I’m concerned.

Weird how grateful I was for him helping me get to an away gane and get my son to his first ever. To this.

Put the original Tel thread back up, with the poll and the responses from other posters and Mods, so people can.decide who's to blame.

You won't though.

This board has been excellent for months, hasn't needed any modding ...

Thought I'd join in to put a few things straight.

First off I can handle 'banter' I've worked in construction my whole life and know what banter is.

What isn't banter is abusive words like ******, mong, spastic, Joey deacon, it might have been acceptable in 1980 but it's not now.

Secondly, this is not @Smug in Boots fault, if you want blame anyone look at the ones that started the thread, the ones.thatbdiscussed it openly on their matchday thread. Should I have seen it? Well it was open for anyone to view and I unfortunately clicked new posts and it was there.

No doubt this post will be ridiculed by most, that's the joys of the internet, but what should have been a simple thing (deleting the thread). Was allowed to happen and was actually encouraged by the bloke who's meant to keep moderators in check.

I had hoped this would all go away and the board would carry on being the decent place for SAFC news and chat, but alas no.

Frankly how anyone can defend a blatant attack on anyone is beyond me and yes I know Gordon off the board and consider him a friend, but that doesn't excuse people from trying to attack him, if it was your mate would you not stick up for him?

I'm not sure how certain posters have achieved immunity from following the rules, I certainly didn't realise that the same posters can do as they please without being held to account when I signed up here.

No doubt more abuse will follow this, its expected

Sorry chunk. I like you as a bloke but me stepping down is due to smug. Nobody else. Had he not asked things like “what exactly do you do” and tell me I don’t spend enough time on here, I’d have stayed on. He’s had 4 or 5 direct digs at me in recent times. The things that happened and caused you to go was not his fault. Me saying I’m done is. Everyone else argues with me and says don’t leave, Smug makes excuses for his actions.

I wonder who on here could juggle a massive job in the NHS and their own business and be able to spend the time he demands on here to moderate. Never blamed Smug for any of what happened, just for his constant pops at me. For that he is solely to blame
 
Who would have thought an,on the face of it, thoroughly decent bunch of adults with really only one thing in common....our devotion to SAFC.....could end up in an under 14 girls playground spat like this!
There is the thread from Tees to Chunk,showing what Sunderland fans have become famous for,which makes us all proud to be who we are,and then we get this.
Unbelievable! Needless,futile and terribly sad!

Maybe my post should have gone in the other thread as it wasn't aimed at you blaming Smug, it was an attempt to explain the reasons I won't be sticking around. Apologies if it's come across differently.

Sorry,can I just add,that some on RTG will be having a laugh at this. Most of us on here have transferred from there owing to the disintegration of that forum.
Now it seems,this one is going/has gone the same way. What is it about us.....do we have a self-destruct button? The general consensus is that we have a decent team at the minute,doing not too bad,playing exciting football for the first time in over a decade.We look forward to turning up.We have a young,talented squad,an obviously committed and well-heeled owner,with his eye firmly fixed on the future development....things are looking brighter than at any time since the Keane days.
We should be optimistic for the first time in a long time.
Come on lads....get a ****ing grip!
