I've just re-watched the match on MoTD. To be honest, Mo El had a 20 yard stroll to get into position, while the Spurs defenders were consulting their 'How to defend crosses' playbook, and JWP served the ball on a plate. Their defence were still discussing amongst themselves what they should do about crosses when Che headed our third in. I expect their defence is still out there, deciding how best to approach things.

That was Lucy sprinting <laugh>

Need to give Mo El some credit for making a 20 yard run to get into position, in front of the defender.
Che was just unmarked.
From what I saw on MOTD, Mo El keeps his shirt and place. Despite being in and out of the team, he seems to be really making a contribution, not just in goals. That early pass which Che just failed to score from, was sublime, looked up saw the option and ensured the best pace of the ball. I know he's got his detractors and has, early on, gave most of us a reason to sell him, not now. He's the sort of player that teams may not respect enough and he seems to know how to pay them back. It's a compliment to the way Ralph works with this squad in that every player on the park tonight played their part in giving us a terrific victory, whether first choice or not.

The better he gets, the lower our chances of signing him on a permanent deal.
Recent talk has been that his parents like him being here. Let’s hope he listens to them.
But even then, Chelsea hold all the cards as he’s on a long contract.

I doubt that it makes that much difference, realistically. It might affect the price a little bit, but the primary determinant is what it was previously:

- Do we want him?
- Does he want to join permanently?
- Does Chelsea think that he's good enough to play regularly for them next year?

The answer to the first question is yes. The answer to the second question seems to be yes, or we wouldn't have pursued it with any vigor. I'm still extremely dubious about the third question; it's Chelsea, and the likelihood that they'll field Broja over Lukaku, Werner and whatever 60m signing they make in the summer isn't all that high.

Pretty sure I saw them linked with Isak the other day along with Man United and Arsenal. Those two I understand. They both need a new striker and have massive fan bases so are good for clicks even if it is nonsense. Chelsea’s fanbase isn’t as click generating to just throw them in for no reason

They are also linked with Dembele on a free who will take one of their limited attacker slots (even though he is an orthodox winger primarily and Chelsea don’t play with those)

I honestly think they only keep him if they can get most of their money back on both Lukaku and Werner (and even then they will bring someone else in to be definite first choice). And I just don’t see who will both give them a similar fee for Lukaku or get close to his terms. Anyone with that budget will go for Haaland first. And then there are probably a few others they would look at before arriving at Lukaku.

Will they tell him he's sure to play and then not give him the games? Yep, almost certainly.
Is he better than Werner? Shane Long is better than Werner so yep.
Is it getting less likely we will get him on a permanent with every passing game? Yep.

I wasn't overly impressed with him for the first few games but he's a winner. He scraps for everything and leaves the pitch with nothing. I'm sure that he is a square peg in a square hole now with us, we have a settled squad with great understanding. He would be starting over anywhere else but there will be so many clubs trying to sign him now, we better have a deal in principle agreed or its going to be a frenzy.

What a night. What a performance & taking the piss out of Spuds by bringing on Theo & Shane! Unbelievable commitment, endeavour & skill. Quality performance from everyone last night including Ralph’s interview after game on BT. Cloud nine, still !!
Oh & another “hats off” to Ralph for giving both Perraud & Salisu the time before exposure to the PL. Looks like the slow introduction has provided massive benefits for both.

Ralph has improved him like does with most players, Perraud and Mo being the latest
I hope he can do it with Adam Armstrong!

Pity Conte didn`t have the grace to congratulate Saints on their win, or say we deserved it. Never mind, he can console himself with getting Levy`s cheque book out in the summer - shame he`s going to find that its not nearly as big as Abramovich`s though.

That’s a draw w City and an away win at Spurs in the last 2. Plus a draw w Spurs making it 4 points from them this season and a drubbing of Brentford before that. Only that blip against Wolves on our recent record. We fear nobody at the moment.

Speaking personally, I'm quite scared of my wife....
