My only issue with our transfer window activity is not filling all our squad spaces. In an ideal world an experienced centre half and forward would have been fantastic. But not essential. I’m not overly bothered about Slater, but only because midfield was probably the last area we needed strengthening. I do feel sorry for Slater himself as the kid deserves first team football, whether with us or not. Whoever ****ed up deadline day, it’s to the detriment of this lad getting out and playing football.

Come on GLP, just take a wild stab in the dark <laugh>

It's ****ing bollocks.

A pivot is a singularity around which something may turn.

A double pivot would seize up. Not a good trait in a defensive midfield duo.

Unless it's more like a twin leading braking system where the action of one pivoting part is used to supplement the force acting on the second pivot thus increasing the overall braking force.

It's just having 2 midfielders sitting back that's all.

Yeah, but 'Double Pivot' is shorter...<whistle>

Reactions: Ernie Shackleton
In goal, we have Matt Ingram (who mistakes aside has looked half decent) and we have a young Chelsea goalkeeper who comes highly rated, plus Cartwright/Robson waiting in the wings or for cup games.

.
Ingram made howlers leading to vital goals in successive games (was it Derby and Fulham?), followed by gifting the ball to the Bournemouth striker, but the redeeming himself. He has made some great saves too, but it's unusual for a keeper to retain his place after so many errors.

Don't remeber Baxter looking safe as houses against Wigan either - but it'll be interesting to see who ends up with the **** for the majority of the season.

Ingram did more good than bad vs Bournemouth and recovered well from 'that' clearance so for me he starts next game.

... and how they move to play out from the back. But from that linked explanation then without the ball it's having 2 sitters.

Quite educational on here tonight. I now know how brakes work.
