Totally agree. But until he doesn’t sign, he’s signing. <ok>

Mbappe's not doing enough to get a place in our team, atm. Needs Jurgen in the dressing room to remind him he's playing for a move to Anfield. Not good enough.

He looks lively but needs to use his teammates more. He's obviously been told to isolate a defender and run at them.

HE's making sure Madrid aren't interested so we can afford him.

    Just on the pens.

Did anyone else think all the french players telegraphed where they were putting the ball. They were so square onto it they really could only smash it down the middle or put it one side. Mbappe was the same.

A few of the swiss pens were as bad. The only think that saved them was there was enough power on one to beat lloris' weak arm.

I thought they needed to take another step to the side and open both sides of goal up.

most were smashed in but they were very guessable.

I hear southgate is choreographing the whole experience for the centre circle up to the spot and everything for germany.

Thought most of the pens were quality last night. Doesn’t matter if you tell the keeper where it’s going if you smash them in top corner.

Were a couple that keepers got close, lloris should have saved one but for his weak hands.

he can only win the next game in front any way he thinks first.

If plan A is 120mins at 0-0 then pens with pickford in goal its nuts.

Germany look like they could pass us to death but have conceded a lot of group stage goals. there surely has to be some scope here to score a goal and then defend like he seems to want to.

What I don't want to see is phillips with back firmly to play and rice also falling over the ball being tapped at them from the cbs. If germany REALLY press these two i think we will struggle.

Germany will press. We have the players to beat that press and pace to scare the living crap out of them. I suspect though, that Southgate will sit back and invite them onto us and nick a goal with a long ball….conceding midfield before we start. I really hope I’m wrong but I can’t see him doing anything else.

its exactly what i am imagining. I don't think rice and phillips could beat their way out of a wet paper bag never mind a real press.
