Just on the pens. Did anyone else think all the french players telegraphed where they were putting the ball. They were so square onto it they really could only smash it down the middle or put it one side. Mbappe was the same. A few of the swiss pens were as bad. The only think that saved them was there was enough power on one to beat lloris' weak arm. I thought they needed to take another step to the side and open both sides of goal up.

Thought most of the pens were quality last night. Doesn’t matter if you tell the keeper where it’s going if you smash them in top corner. Were a couple that keepers got close, lloris should have saved one but for his weak hands.

Germany will press. We have the players to beat that press and pace to scare the living crap out of them. I suspect though, that Southgate will sit back and invite them onto us and nick a goal with a long ball….conceding midfield before we start.
