Here's the fascinating story of one of the great collaborations in rock history from the iconic opening bass riff to the extraordinary vocal performances of Bowie and Mercury..oh and it just so happens to have a timeless message of love and compassion.... sheer perfection.

Can't wait to see this....

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-55730195

It's a film about Creation Records, the independent label that set out to save Rock and Roll in the mid 80s from the sea of manufactured Synth Pop of the time.
Based on the book by owner, Alan McGee it's the story of how bands such as The Jesus and Mary Chain, Primal Scream, Ride, Teenage Fanclub, My Bloody Valentine and many others were given a home....here's a clip from the film..

Hurrah!!! Fun night that was, though both they and we were a little bit rusty! I've managed to get Billy to follow the fortunes of Saints quite closely since those days. He really, really knows his football (and likes Vestegaard and Armstrong as players).

This popped into my head for some reason just now, a psychedelic version of a Bob Dylan/Rick Danko song from 1968:

Great version! I remember it being shown on TOTP when I was 13 - probably my introduction to Dylan, as someone (probably my older brother) told me it was a song by him. I still love to hear this version though = cheers for posting Chilcs!
