Couldn't care less about this competition. Used to love it but nowadays the games are more like friendlies for us, I nearly didn't bother doing the match thread [HASHTAG]#dontdofriendlies[/HASHTAG]

Don't think the club could either.
It's a shame, because it's one of the competitions that contributes to a legitimate trophy tally - as opposed to those silly exhibition matches that some think matter - but like the other domestic cup its perceived value has declined in recent years. Younger fans probably don't even remember it as something worth playing for.
I wish we did take it seriously, but we won't - even though everyone at the club will claim otherwise. I expect it'll be a combination of kids and a few senior players who are short of game time.
 
Hopefully Jones and Minamino get a start for this one.

Agreed.

Don't care about it was probably the wrong wording tbh. I'd love us to win it really. I probably should have put "lost interest in it" because we don't even try for it anymore.
