I like Williams very much but I thought Hoever was just a bit better. We can't get all those on the edge decent game time so keeping everyone isn't fair on their personal development.
It would be a bad sign for him to go out on loan; Klopp doesn't like to loan players out, he prefers to keep them nearby where he can keep a eye on them and help improve them.
What did I say wrong? It was a brilliant performance, better than some of the crap our first team can produce on occasion!
Yeah that does seem to be his thing eh. I’ve always thought that young players on the fringe are better served getting genuine competitive game time elsewhere. Especially if they’re local lads, as they have to leave home and mature a bit, good for their overall development imo.
True, I'm pretty sure he said once about if they are good enough they will stay amongst the squad to train and learn
No way Jones is going on loan for the very reasons you say. He's absolutely not a candidate for a loan spell.
Only issue is getting a team who play in similar style and who are going to have the ball in similar way we do. think in the past it was all about go out there and play against men to toughen up. These days think it’s more tactical, no point him going to a team like Burnley where playing in midfield won’t touch the ball for vast majority of the game for example. Think he’s shown enough that will get game time this season though. Especially with Gini probably going at end of the season.
The theory being he’ll be bedded in this season with game time so even Gini goes next season he’s not just thrown in out of nowhere
He's like one of those heat sealed wrappers, you know there's something good in there, it's just difficult getting it out. The wrapper will burst open eventually ......
He and ox will have to stay fit and have decent seasons to stop Curtis Jones taking that spot more regularly. For me naby has never arrived.
I think Taki is pushing hard for Bobby's spot too, looked comfortable there against Lincoln (yes it's Lincoln) and if he keeps popping up with goals (where Bobby could improve) then we have some real competition in that 9/10 position.
I think their career averages are roughly the same. Firmino excels with his work off the ball and his link-up play with the other two, we'll have to see if Minamino can match that, because it's just as valuable as his goals. I'm happy to see that he seems to be settling a bit now. It will be good to have an effective alternative to Bobby for those days when he's off the boil.
