I've checked around Twitter, I'm puzzled - so many comments about it "fizzling out" or being over? Don't get it. They rejected So'ton, who went back, restructured and got approved.
Not only is the NUFC case much worse - the potential owner, PIF, has been recognised in writing as a "company" by Masters himself - but he's up against two individuals who will sue the **** out of the PL. Worse still, one of them - Ashley - isn't even suing because of the cash, he'll be suing to prove a point. Ashley simply doesn't do things he doesn't believe he'll win. If there was nothing there, the club would have said absolutely nothing.
We won't see news, there'll be pockets here and there, but we're talking about Ashley, Staveley, possibly RB's, maybe even KSA, the UK Gov and perhaps the FA all staring at the PL demanding answers. And in a court, those answers will be made public. I said ages ago, this could be the beginning of the end of the PL. It feels apocalyptic to me - with Covid-19, then this action and the fallout (remember, if Ashley/Staveley then win, the cartel will be mightily pissed off), I can't see a PL existing soon.
The owner at Southampton would'nt have changed the landscape of the league.. That was a different circumstance.
The premier league doesn't want to let the Saudis in and its created its own test over the last few years since Southampton that allows them to legally hide behind just not being satisfied.
PIF can't be arsed with it.. the premier league are confident they can't lose
