Yep, PL have released a statement where they basically highlight the fact they didn't make a decision. Pass me the ****ing popcorn and a can of something cold - this is gonna get GOOOOOOD!
Just when you think it cannot get any more shambolic, this **** pops up!!! It's absolutely brilliant. A macabre, stab yourself in the head with a fork kind of brilliant. PL "Who owns it." PCP "PCP, RB, PIF." PL "No, who REALLY owns it" PCP "PCP, RB, PIF" PL "We don't believe you" I mean, what the ****ity ****?!?!???!?!?!?!?! The test is supposed to work out if the owners and investments are financially sound. PIF is worth $260bn. What ****ing difference does it make?? Mike knows all this, hence why he released a statement. He'll be in front of Martin Hardy by Saturday.

I mean, holy **** - please refer back to me previous comment about people in power/money actually not being particularly competent. To think this statement would have been vetted and considered heavily, and in itself it's contradictory. They're going to get ****ing crucified in court. Particularly when you consider the PL hasnt got any money!!!
This is going to go legal. The PL Board think they've gotten away with it, so is Ashley getting the ducks in a row ready for the next bid, putting pressure on the cretins at the PL beforehand. The next episode of the Takeover Soap should be interesting.
Goes possibly back to my point. The PL may not have officially rejected the bid but it could be argued that the refusal or failure to give a decision when it was reasonable to have done so (I don't know if that is the case but presumably Ashley's lawyers would) is tantamount to a rejection.

I don't really have a problem with the PL rejecting it. I don't buy these statements not making sense either. The PL looks to be being pretty clear why they have rejected it. Its about who will actually own the club. Fair enough. My problem is when there is a disagreement we need a little more than "we had concerns". If the PL want to worm their way out, they should be happy to say the reasons we believe this club ownership cannot proceed is A, B, C, D. This part of the structure shows that there is a legal reason to believe that the saudi government will own it. They aren't doing that though and it goes back to what I said earlier, this gives rise to people thinking its a dodgy process. Unfortunately for them they have picked a very poor enemy too. Ashley is obstinate as they come. He will happily spunk money on legals to make his point.We saw with the SD and MP debacle, the man will not be bullied.
This is going nuclear. The PL has confirmed that the bid was not rejected, but that they did not make a decision. That being the case, it is persuasive in suggesting that the PL sat on it hoping the Saudi's would pull out. Staveley was therefore telling the truth. I'm quite surprised that the PL has released that statement as it opens the way to a legal challenge as to their conduct and whether they have acted properly. Hence NUFC's statement last night. The PL are going to come out of this with their reputation in tatters.
Its really good fun this on the eve of the new PL season. It is almost like Ashley has been sat in wait, and then they've given him the perfect platform. Either that or they've timed it to ensure the PL is top of everyone including the medias agenda, knowing full well there is jack Newcastle can do so no publicity is bad publicity.
