Thank you for having a voice of reason. This "will of the people" thing is the biggest political lie of all. MPs are there to look after the interests of the people. All of them.
That’s the problem
Very few people actually read the manifestos
People follow the cult of personality instead
I think those leaders debate things are pretty ridiculous , surely the actual policies are more important ?
Our leaders of political parties have a personality?
To be able to govern this country you don’t even need 40 percent of the votes. It’s crazy that after the election all the other votes don’t count. The majority don’t want whatever government gets in. It’s usually city against the countryside. Time for a PR system. Every vote should count. UKIP) not a fan by the way) got 5 million votes one election and got 1 seat. SNP got less and had approx 50 seats. It’s bloody ridiculous. The cons and Labour won’t want it as it takes away their monopoly. And here is the problem. The U.K. is not naturally Far right or Far left so we are frustrated to hell thst there is no in between and therefore it’s swings too far whoever gets in. However I will be voting. All in my opinion of course.
Corbyn and McDonnell are anti capitalist and admired the GDR and USSR. Ironic when they had no unions, no right to strike and no freedom of movement, kept in by barbed wire and walls and shot if trying to leave. Their ideas are nothing like the Centrist Left across Europe which uses their successful capitalist economies to pay for their system. They’re really not. Read the manifesto alongside the Grey Book that details every penny of costing. Labour’s Policies are similar to those implemented in many Countries across Europe which are considered Centre Left.
Listen to what they say & read the Policies rather than what the Tax Evading MSM want you to believe they say.

I'll not vote, Den. For the first time since I turned 18 I'll not be voting.
I'm just sick being let down on the promises I'm given.
It doesn't matter who you vote for, the Government get in.
So many “misspeaks” in one post.
Do you work for the MSM?

What misspeaks are those, Ben?
Just because you referred to “their self interest” like they were a collective. Apols if that wasn’t your intention. Why would I really think that
I never put anything about it
Don’t put words in my mouth.
I do yes.You mean the 48% as well as the 52%, of people who voted, along with those who didn’t vote at all?
I was 20 in 1970 so was able to vote that year in the first General Election where under 21s could vote. My dad said to me whilst charting in the pub, I don’t care who you vote for but Kurtz vote. Me and your mother spent over 5 years of our lives in uniform in a war where millions lost their lives to maintain that freedom. Billions around the world wish they had the chance and hundreds of millions are six foot under who fought for that chance. Always have done. Tried to instil it into my kids but not successfully. Which is why when they moan about what is going on I tell them I am not interested. Of course, those people also fought for the freedom not to vote, but I think everyone should take the opportunity.
MPs must represent everyone in their constituency. I know some voices have drifted a very long way away from that - but that is surely how a democracy works. No one gets left out for voting the wrong way one time.So MPs should ignore the votes of the people who elected them on the basis they know better? Applies equally to MPs who ignored the way their constituents voted, both Leave and Remain. They don’t say those same people didn’t understand what they voted for when they elected them.
I saw that. It’s like he doesn’t want to reveal what his party wish to do in five years of government, other than one thing which he will get done in six weeks. What then? I was amazed the moderator didn’t pull him up on it.I watched the one on the BBC on Friday and Johnson tried to not answer a single question instead spouting his new catchphrase “get Brexit done” and telling us what labour were going to do instead.
It doesn’t say any of that in the manifesto. Which is the point Ben was making. I think it is very unlikely that a majority of 650 MPs will vote for the end of democracy, even in the very unlikely event that a PM proposed it. So I think you needn’t worry too much about that scenario.Corbyn and McDonnell are anti capitalist and admired the GDR and USSR.
