Wycombe beat them, Bristol rovers beat them, Oxford put 6 past them. They are...(were) careering down the league......and then we play them. I understand that there is never a given......but WTF?

Still think we will win, but hitting head against wall and saying WTF, almost every weekend, is causing damage

Most of the league signs freebies though. We should be able to get the best ones, and we've got a category A academy to pick from, and we've spent more than anyone else. It's a ****ing disgrace tbh. We should have enough quality for Ross to get a bit of a tune out of them, enough not to be outplayed by Rochdale, Bolton and the likes
How much have we spent? Most of our signings were free weren’t they? And what gives us the right to sign “the best ones”? Not that I know who’s available!! We’re just another third division club

that said, McLaughlin was player of the season last season. He’s given away 2 goals in 2 games (and sure he should’ve done better with others we’ve conceded!)

So disappointing, we need to get rid of Ross, I’m tired of seeing this team with no real drive or tactics. Hopefully any takeover includes a new manager as disruptive as it can be I don’t think we can lose much.
Totally agree. If the takeover plan does not include a new manager, SD's failure to act may well compromise his own role in that plan!

I don't want to get into a Ross debate in the match thread so all I'll say is that regardless of what we should have been able to achieve in the transfer market, and who is to blame for that, the players we have ended up with aren't necessarily promotion quality.

What gives us the right to sign the best ones? Well we're the biggest club, by far. If you're a free agent looking to progress, this is obviously a club you'd be tempted by. Apparently we pay wages in line with or higher than anyone else, do you think Grigg would have signed for any other club? We paid big money for him, we paid for Dobson, we agreed what won't be a small contract to keep McGeady here. We aren't "just another third division club", we're a big club in this league paying good money with great facilities who no one expects to hang around here for long and who have already been within one game of promotion. If I was a player with no affiliation either way I'm pretty sure I'd choose Sunderland over most/ any other club in this league. This "little old Sunderland", "we're just like every other club in the league" mentality risks holding us back. Some would say it if we dropped to the conference north. We're Sunderland, we're too big to be here, budget wise we should be backing that up with results and its a pain in the arse that we aren't

Last season we were. This season, a player looking in sees another third division club. Our budget, according to Donald, was nowhere near as big as everyone seems to think. We are exactly where we deserve to be. We’re not too big. We are where we are.

Haven't checked RTG for the match thread but I'd imagine the way we are playing it will be kicking off.

The training facilities must still be an advantage though surely?
