I can’t believe I’m saying this, but you’ve been spot on today, Space.I thought Long was very good. Both wingers played well. Individually, I thought all the defenders were good... Why can't we win at foot the ball???

Glad you backed out.i didn't renew my STH for that reason. However, i did go today because i won the ticket. Didn't make me regret not renewing

We played well. We deserved a lead. We got a lead. We shat ourselves. Hojbjerg took a tumble. We lost.Back from Cape Verde, doom and gloom.
Can anyone summarise the match without me having to trawl through the whole thread.
Yeah, they dumped us for a match to give some free advertising to scope which is a charity they support. they did the same thing last year iirc.
I keep hearing we have a decent squad (i try to convince myself too) but is it really any good? Third manager having a go with them now and struggling albeit early days.
When i watch other teams e.g. Wolves today i do not see inferior players to ours at all.
Just poor, fragile confidence, fragile defending, pedestrian play.
There isn’t really a point in criticising any individuals. We are a bad side managed by a bad manager.
Last season we were either **** and lost or played well in parts and lost. This season is off to an average start but signs are there it will be more of the same.
ref had a flawless game

I think the latter is the bigger problem here. Whilst no Pellegrino, Hughes is not going to progress any PL team beyond the top 15. He is a pedestrian manager, likely not equipped to compete tactically with many of the current crop of progressive managers (let alone Sean Dyche and Claude Puel), and whilst he was possibly the best short-term choice when we hired him, his long-term contract award was easy, lazy, and short-termist.
Sounds harsh, and not based on the games this season but more my view from the start. Don't imagine him to be too inspiring a character in the dressing room, and blaming the referee every game doesn't send the right signals imo.

And as for his appointment, can you imagine the backlash if the board had NOT appointed him, gone for someone else and then we'd been in this situation now?

Hughes not afraid to change his starting 11, Yoshida must be in contention to start the next one.
