I believe that Enob honestly thought he was buying quality on the cheap, spending a little but enough to see us challenging for the play-offs minimum, which would have seen a buyer come in.

And hearing poor old Adkins, a good bloke and a decent manager, in his post match interview, it's clear he's been stitched up by Enob.

in reality what they’ve spent is peanuts. These are just token signings, clubs have spent on 1 player what we spent on Toral and Irvine. They’ve humoured us just like they are with these supporter meetings they have have no intentions of changing anything they just string us along until they’ve got their money back

It maybe peanuts compared to boro. But compared to the prestons, Barnsley etc weve spent quite a bit.
They have still spent but why spend at all. I wouldn't in their shoes if I was going to dump the team into league 1 take the next parachute payment and leave. Free agents all the way.

Ye it's a fair point. We spent £15m ish. That's still a lot for a championship club. Of course we could've spent more but if were that keen to trouser money, they wouldn't have spent that.

He probably should have done, or at least known enough not to trust them further than he could chuck them.
But I think a) he didn't fully understand how deep the hatred of the Allams is for so many, and that's it's beyond repair (this was from talking directly with him), and b) he has been misled (or naive / too trusting, or more likely both) in terms of intent to strengthen in January.
I think he's a good, honest man, and a very decent manager, but I can't for the life of me understand why the hell he would agree to work with the Allams. I know he wanted a job, and he'll be reasonably well paid (all relative of course), but he surely wasn't that desperate to risk having his reputation left in tatters.
I really don't believe failing at Hull City in its present state will seriously damage any manager's reputation.

He needed a job, like all of us need a job. Some of us hate who we work for or what we have to put up with and the constraints. He openly said he was itching to get back in and for me, he was massively clever in showing up at games. The press put him in the frame. I suspect, that Escab would walk past him in the street and not know who the hell he was...
