He's got his uses. We've had far more useless lumps on the bench in the past.
He may only be good for a bit of running and defending, but at least he can do those things.

But in the past, the rest of the team were **** so 1 more didn’t matter! <laugh>
I’m fine with him doing a bit of defending and running, but maybe for 5 minutes once a season. :emoticon-0136-giggl

With City playing the Spam tomorrow, we are effectively closer to the relegation zone than the top of the table. Sobering.

Walker.... gone
Rose... not fully fit
Dembele....not fit and having to work too hard in deeper defensive areas.
Alli.. peaked early, unfortunately that was last season.
Eriksen... head has been turned, by Mourinho, apparently.
Toby... injured a big big miss.
Wanyama....injured a big big miss.

Without this lot, we might be in trouble.

Injuries, fitness and a knock-on effect. We've had a few key players out, hurt or knackered at the same time.
Alderweireld and Wanyama being out puts extra strain on Dier and we've been playing with five at the back, so no holding player.
Kane, Alli and Winks all got injured, while Eriksen knackered himself out playing too many games, including his internationals.
Dembele, Lamela, Rose, Aurier and Llorente are all miles from being 100% and Sissoko's confidence is in the ****ter.
That's a lot of players that aren't at full strength and we're playing a lot of games in a short period of time.
This is difficult for any team to cope with - even the ones with bigger squads.
I think you would have managed had the front players been on fire - but 4 goals in the last 6 PL games, with only two for Kane and none for Alli tells its own story. Players who score goals when needed can make up for a lot of deficiencies elsewhere.

We should win without bad officiating by the ref, you're looking for excuses.
Not looking for excuses just pointing out reasons. We should have had a penalty in the half. Clear for all to see except the geezer with the whistle.Whatever the rights and wrongs of Sanchez’s sending off Atkinson did not apply the rules consistently. Dier was clearly fouled immediately before Watford broke away and got a corner from which they scored their goal. If Atkinson applies the rules it would have been a free kick to us. Watford should have one player, probably two, given a second yellow. That would have made it an even game. Watford did not have a clue how to exploit their advantage and to be fair to our players they kept looking for the win.
I hope that Lamela gets at least half of a game on Wednesday together with a few non-regular starters and let us hope that everybody is talking about the game and the players after the game and not the referee.

Edit. Just remembered Lamela is not in the CL squad. Oops

He's ****ed off to watch Arsenal. Shame for him that they're 2-0 down. <cheers> <laugh>

Poch sounds very, very downcast in his post-match interview. I'm not sure he can see a way out of this right now. We're down to the bare bones with just 2 players out injured. Carrying far too many passengers at the moment. Rose is miles off the pace, Aurier is miles from understanding his role and Sissoko is Sissoko. Add to that the indifferent form of Alli, Dier and Eriksen and you have real conundrum.

Sanchez now out for Stoke, Brighton and City. Who the **** do we turn to now?! Options are basically:
Stick to a back 3 with Davies as a CB and rely on Rose to play 3 games on the trot.
Stick to back 3 and throw Foyth in the creek without a paddle.
Go with a back 4 and sacrifice our CM presence.

At this level, these are the options that kill you.

We need to rest as many players as possible on Wed night and just hope for the best in the games that follow. I know I'm.already one of the resident pessimists on this board (growing up watching 90's Spurs does that to you), but hearing Poch sound so despondent has made me seriously concerned. We could easily be 10-12 pts off 4th spot post-City match.

I'm struggling here. Really struggling. Where do we go from here to Jan 1st?

Right...fair enough to be disappointed but we are Tottenham...we are blue and white...we are a dream...a hope in a turgid world of chavs, spivs and reds...we are true fans...we don't hide when we lose...we don't boo our own...we have more than one song...we love being spurs...they can deny us penalties...they can buy our players...but they can never take our our Tottenham

Oh god...didn't think this through...using an anti Semite to make me point <doh>

Look on the bright side...no other board has RCL...won us a point today <whistle>

Correct. Despite all of Liverpool's defensive clowns, they continue to score goals by the truckload thanks to 'drop of a hat' players like Mane and Firmino. One of the main reasons Klopp banished Sturridge is that he isn't a 'drop of a hat' striker, needing 3 or 4 chances before finding his range and the back of the net.

One thing we could do is stop playing Sissoko. Regardless of how short we are. He is even more detrimental to the team, and it looks like the others don’t trust him.
Today was classic Sissoko. Poch thinks, replace powder-puff Eriksen and put on 6’2” man mountain Sissoko to strengthen the MF. Trouble is that Sissoko then completely mirrors Eriksens powder-puffery! <doh>

Yep, once again the referee has had a major influence on the dynamic of a game involving Spurs. No real complaints about Sanchez`s red card. I can see why he was sent off, but you just know that had Sanchez been playing for Pool or United he would have been let off with a yellow card at worst.

Also, Twatkinson allowed our players to be persistently fouled and could (and probably should) of given at least one of them a second yellow, this lack of protection hindered our chances going forward.

Still it was a decent effort to dig in and not lose at what is a difficult place to go these days, especially as it was in the face of our current poor form, key injury list and what is fast becoming consistent rotten luck with refereeing.

Ok...my take on this...apart from the resident wum I think that people's frustrations from a poor performance at Leicester has spilled into today's match. We played with 10 men for 45 mins including added time and won a point ... Watford have been playing really well at home so a point in these circumstances is a good point.
We are in a bad run ... just as we were in the beginning of the year...we needed a penalty to beat Boro (remember when we used to get them things), drew nil nil with the terrible Sunderland team, lost 2 nil to Liverpool in a terrible performance...lost away to Gent and drew at home to them...we were written off and then went on to win 14 out of our last 15 premier league matches.
We are only 6 points off top four...it takes very little to change things round.

And I will leave you to ponder this....

RCL is less miserable than you lot <laugh>

I agree completely. We need to dig in; that's fans, players, management., everyone. **** me, we're guaranteed to top our CL Group and people are bitching like we lost 8 - 2 at Derby or 7 at Liverpool or Newcastle.

Get a grip and sing your heart out for the shirt, people. COYS.
