I prefer female friends tbh. Now that I'm married it's a little awkward, but my teens and first two years of 20's (before I was married), most of my closest friends were females. Avoided it slipping into a physical relationship with most of them.

In the office, most of the people I get friendly with are female coworkers too. I just prefer the company of women.

This particular girl though it was easy to not get physical with, she wasn't very attractive.

Was a bit like that for me too until I got married.

Had a bit of a thing with one girl mate which messed up the friendship
