Liverpool knew they'd been caught out...and I think the main reason is Klopp's character. He feels bombproof. However, their quick reaction to a possible scandal is no doubt related to their recent history...didn't want to face a ban. Virgil is good, but he isn't essential to their success and we wanted a top price. The candle isn't worth the penny.

We don't know 100% facts about what happened though. I think you're a bit naive mate if you think what we did doesn't go on all the time. Players know other players, coaches know other players - they talk. It's usually kept quiet due to a good deal happening.

You basically grassed us up <laugh>

And nobody likes a grass.

However, sometimes you have to make a stand. I see us as basically Marlon Brando in On The Waterfront, standing up for the little man and facing down the crooks, the shysters, the whole corrupt greedy rats nest.

We coulda been contenders...

Judging by how clean his shoes are, he must get carried everywhere.
His ego is enough to fly the plane.

In all seriousness I hope the club tell him that he will have to suck it up and deal with it. If a club pays enough in the correct manner then he can go, but if he's still here when the window shuts then he will have to buck up his ideas.

I'm sure it's been said before but in a World Cup year, it's in his best interests not to end up sulking in the reserves.

We wouldn't make him sulk in the reserves we couldn't afford to, if it got to that point we would just sell him

Ha.! I suspect more likely that some Nike representative asked Mr VVD if he would kindly use a bit of his down time to take off his old Nike shoes and put on those gleaming new ones so that they could photograph him wearing them and then Nike could go on to fleece a few more millions or so people. Busy, busy, busy.

If he does stay I take it he won't be captain? lol

Tbh I actually feel for you guys on this. He's tried to **** you over as much as we have. Surely City will just come in and pay 40Mil. All problems sorted and he gets his move and you don't end up with a sulker.

There's no way we're going to accept less than £70m for him from anyone ...
