There's fit and being match fit.
So many players and managers say how important a good preseason is.
There's no rush.

This^ I can understand why people are eager to see him, he's a cracking player, but we'd be unlikely to see him at his best coming back so late in the season anyway. There's fit and being match fit.

I don't get these posts. How do lot you know that he'll be ready for next season but not by the end of this? Best left to the medical professionals working with him on a daily basis I think. If it turns out he's fit and ready sooner than expected that can only be a good thing.
To be fair - Some of the people on here are probably better than our medical staff. Or more recent medical staff. Our track record of bringing players back too early for them to break down and spend longer on the sidelines wasn't an unusual occurrence, it seemed almost the norm.
Never...going to ...happenThe best solution for us and him would be for city to be safe with a couple of games to go and the medics giving him the all clear to play.
I'd stretch if to half eight personallyNo next season is too close, far too close.
He needs to rest until 2020.
If he is in the doctors eyes fit enough to play before the end of the season, I suspect that if at some point we are safe by the last couple of games he might get on for some minutes off the bench.
. If the Doctor gives him the absolute all clear and he's fully fit with 3 weeks to go in the season, sure, let him play.
I thought that was all that has been said; have some posts disappeared?
I think there's a blurred line about what is being considered fit. Match fit and healthy are two different things.
Obviously not. I mean amongst people posting in this thread. Not in professional circles there isn't. I think it's a point too over thought; they'll rehabilitate him, they'll get him fit and start giving him game time. They'll do that as soon as they can and get him back into the mainstream dressing room.
That does seem to be the case, but it must be bad luck surely. It's hard to believe that these guys have just called it completely wrong. It's their job to be cautious, so if they're deemed fit to play I'm sure it's because they're absolutely confident that there's no more risk than with any player in any game.
