Most of them were players falling in the box with clear daylight between them and the penalised player. This is not just my view, it's shared by a large number of pundits!

Interesting comparison between Saints and us - http://www.edp24.co.uk/features/mic...ing_preparation_and_value_for_money_1_4803248
"The list of players Southampton have turned over in recent seasons is phenomenal – an exit door since 2014 that has included Rickie Lambert, Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Calum Chambers, Nathaniel Clyne, Morgan Schneiderlin, Victor Wanyama, Sadio Mane and Graziano Pelle."
MB failed to mention players such as Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who are all products of Saints youth set up and it would be fantastic if we could have even ONE such player coming through our ranks.

Not sure I agree JM. We haven't produced young players in the past because our previous managers, particularly Lambert and Hughton, haven't shown an interest in them. Under Adams and since AN arrived, the Murphys went out on loan and came back fit for the first team and Jacob is currently our leading scorer. Adams recruited McGrandles (pity about his leg-break) and Thompson while AN recruited Godfrey, Maddison, Jaiyesimi, and Canos to complement our other young players like Toffolo, Morris and Cantwell. Many on here complained about recruiting such young players 'for the future' but, IMO, AN is building very much on the Southampton model, including the coup of snatching Pritchard away from Brighton. One of my concerns about changing managers now is whether any new manager would carry on developing young players or go for quick solutions to save his own skin within the manager 'merry go round'.

Really good post Rick and I have to admit I hadn't thought of it like that and now you now you mention it, AN has said that he wants to 'build a dynasty' and recruited the 4 young players you mentioned. Thompson, Morris, Godfrey and Canos have been very impressive when I've seen them play for the under 21s/23s (hope we'll see some of them in action against Swansea on Tuesday) and Maddison has been getting rave reviews playing for Aberdeen, so AN's idea does indeed appear to be paying dividends and you make a good point as to whether a new manager would continue AN's approach of developing the younger players who are our future..

Saw something last week on one internet site that said Chelsea were 19 points better of at this stage this season than last season, and ManU are 7 points worse off. All courtesy of the "special one".

Fabregas not charged for slapping a player in the face,to wind him right up.

What happened to "You can't raise a hand anymore". Very strange how Team specific that rule applies!

    F*cking nonsense!

Ha yes and I could spend some time in the Oakham Brewery Tap House, which is almost opposite the train station - http://www.thebrewery-tap.com/
Might even go on the X1 bus, so I can use my bus pass - it's only a 4 minute walk!!! <laugh>

That's OK - I'm going anyway and the pub also does Thai food at sensible prices, so I'll go and make a day out of it sometime, as I love Oakham beers!! <cheers>
