Fair enough AW, you're not here to wum. I think you either honestly believe that or are putting a brave face on events during that period. Personally, it doesn't hold much water. Look at the value of ALL clubs, including Arsenal and United from 2005 to 2016. They were never at any time, under any risk of going down.

And failing. This is a club who could completely bypass the Europa league they've been so ****e in the CL.

And their last league title was before I was born.

Even Leicester, Villa, Blackburn and Liverpool have won it since.

United are a pile of crap now and they have a pile of cracked eggs as a manager. They will never reach the heights of Fergies reign again because with Fergie came so many other things that contributed to a winning mentality. I think United will stay this way for the foreseeable future which may be hard for their fans to take as they are used to glory. it's a hard pill to swallow when you fall as hard as they have. I mean seriously... This is a team that couldn't even get top four after spending a bucket load of cash!

I don't think they will win the title this season. When (or if) they get things right and going they will be( if not already are) too far behind. They may not even get top 4. But it is wishful thinking to say that they will never win the title again soon. With their "bucket loads of cash" sooner or later, with or without Mourinho they will win it. This is not hope or fear just accepting reality. With so much buying power, they will sooner or later acquire that missing piece, player or manager.

I am now going to have a wash...<yikes>

Yeah I've felt the same defending Utd from these Goons, they are forgetting that they'll **** it up again soon, all their time will be spent crying for Wenger to leave them.

    Lol.

You think we were not financially limited?

Before the period in question when arsene was trading blows equally at national level winning 3 titles to fergies 4 and 4 fa cups to fergies 3 from 1998 to 2005,we could only spend 10m net and our record signing was 12.5m while you were breaking signing records every season with veron, ferdinand etc..we never were able to spend big like you guys in the modern era,our stadium which started big and ended up at 38k crippled us...

But now we can sign whoever we want and are doing so,we can compete with any club in england, maybe a little less compared to you but we now can go for the same player and have a chance ...

If you wish to tell yourself otherwise..do so we goons know what happened and what we have gained,if we proceeded to maniac spend we would have eventually ended up depending on luck amd severity of mismanagement like Newcastle,Leeds,Portsmouth or Liverpool..

We would have spent all our, money, lost our identity, struggled with debt..the future would have been bleak unless we fell upon someone like klopp who turns it around with the squad he inherited and reaching that phase would would have been possible only with someone pumping cash from above if not then it was more likely we ended up like leeds or whatsoever.

But whereas now, with the foundations and income sources set and ever expanding we will be heavy weights for a long long time just like how you say you will eventually get it right with that spending power bar serious serious mismanagement like maybe you had done in the past three years since we dnt have as much endurance as you do yet.But if your muddled period pulls for another 3 years and the current top 4 establish and pull away then you will really feel the heat.

Simple question when fergie started out after some 6 years,he was making record signings every other year while liverpool who had won more than you and were recently in the top 3 european clubs in the world at that time couldnt why?

Why were you able to bulldoze around for a long long time? You could buy the best from the league and add foreigners why?

Money, money, money why you arent worried much?Money you have sick tons of it..it lets you be successful eventually and we got the sources now and are second most enabled club for success in england.

As simple as that, the dark days are over, just look at our squad, arguably the best in England, well covered in every position.

Because six years after SAF joined we won the FA Cup, CWC and Premier League. Then continued to dominate the PL for the next two decades. Success begets money begets more success <ok>

As for Liverpool, don't kid yourself that they couldn't throw the cash around all the time. It wasn't financial constraints that made them think Dean Saunders, Calamity James, Razor Ruddock, Nigel Clough, Stan Collymore and Jason McAteer were better signings than Keane, Cantona, Cole, Irwin, Kanchelskis and Schmeichel. Any more than it was financial constrains that saw Arsenal go for Jensen, McGoldrick, Schwarz, Helder and Kiwomya.

As for your current squad, personally I don't think it's even the best in London, let alone England.

Didn't you know that football always repeats itself? Cycles and cycles and cycles.

So after Liverpool and Arsenal followed a period of success by decades in the wilderness, it must now be United's "turn" to do the same. Or at least if Liverpool and Arsenal repeat this mantra enough times it must be <ok>

Arsenal have 3 players I would take at Chelsea, thats it.
Those players are Sanchez, Ozil and Cazorla. (And Cazorla and probably Ozil would be on the bench).

Actually I would take Cech as well :p
