Serious question, this. No wumming intended. Who do you United fans see as your main rivals now? Everton? West Brom? Stoke? Bournemouth? It would be interesting to get a United take on this. Cheers.
Don't shoot the messenger! We're working on winning something. Watch this space, Chief. I'm just wondering when do you think United will do the same? Just want your take on it.
Got to be said, Spurs are being a bit of a problem at the moment so could be classed as a rival, just not the biggest
Well tbf we've won 2 trophies in the last 6 months. And closer to winning a 3rd than Spurs, being in the semi-final of another cup.
Fair comment. Until our thrashing of Swansea, I might have been inclined to agree with you, D. We've had the worst run of injuries for quite a few seasons, and our form suffered because of it, yet we've only lost one game all season. It's just that we haven't been playing to our usually high standards and scoring for fun, like we were last season. But things are massively improving, now that we've got a few key players back to full fitness. Next week's encounter with you, on your own turf, is going to be a big indicator as to the gulf in class between our two sides. Personally, I think you are scrapping with the likes of Stoke and Bournemouth, this season, although I do believe that Eddie Howe is twice the manager that Jose is - he actually played football, for a start, plus he isn't a smug bastard. Spurs, on the other hand, have got to be counted among the title contenders, this season (something I think is well beyond United, still). I think you have a promising side, that might very well flourish when you finally get rid of The Smug One (perhaps at the end of next season). But, then again, you do have Fellani, which rather defeats any argument that you might put forward to counter mine. I think it's going to be a tight battle for that 5th spot, D, and I would say that you've got as big a shout as any of the other teams I have mentioned.
Hey, don't shoot the messenger, you asked. You've got my take on it. You're Spurs, on the grand scheme on things ****ing nobodies.
Like, for example, being the first British team to win the European Cup? It's going to be very interesting to see how the Nobodies get on against the mighty United, next week. Do you think Fellani will play?
Must have been while the rest of the world wasn't looking. I believe you mean first club to win a European trophy.
Great work on a budget by saf but till 2009 you were making the big buys like berbatov, hargreves, tevez etc thanks to subtracting the huge ronaldo fee you could average but thats bussiness and here is where you are wrong again, during that period arsene did not spend 35 or 25m but on average from mid 2005 to mid 2013 as astonishing as it sounds made on average,a profit of 20 to 25m pounds per season during that time period in just the bloody transfer window. COYG!
Well done mate, that's something to be proud of as a fan. Our manager, Arsene... he won **** all during that period, but my word did he turn a profit!! Fergie must be wondering how he got it so badly wrong.
We had to limit ourselves to have the financial freedom we do now and not go down,it has been immense for the club we can compete from our own pocket. COYG!
