We have two points to our name all year when the opposition scores first: the home draws against Watford and Sunderland in August. A come-from-behind team we aren't.
How many times can we say bad day at the office? There's no excuse to be consistently dropping points to teams at the bottom of the league. It's a serious problem. There's also no excuse not to sign a striker in January as well, the fixture pile up isn't going away.
Totally agree. He's been our best player in an awful team performance today and let's remember he's returning from 5 months out - 5 months people!
Well for everyone that was willing to sacrifice this game for the Europa League one on Thursday, the sacrifice has been made (wasn't expecting it to be with arguably our best 11 though).
Hmm, score two goals past us and you've won, we've one goal or no goals in this team, nothing else it seems.
Here comes pages of the positive v negative debate I'm off to play with the boy for a couple of hours... be on later. That's not a dig at you mate btw
We've defended poorly today and that's a little embarrassing but **** happens. The defence have generally been good this season. What concerns me is the continued lack of goals. When we went 2 down I wonder how many of the players genuinely believed we could score 3? It's the same problem time after time against these Palace and Hull type sides. What we're doing as an attacking force is clearly not working and Puel needs to change something.
I pay good money to watch this team. I am more often than not happy. Today has been a disgrace. Plus - it's happened far too much this season. That's what irks me the most.
Don't think anybody wants saints to fail. Some are just more pessimistic than others! Would be dull if everyone had the same opinion.
This is the worst Saints display since the cup debacle at Sheffield United a couple of years ago, poor defensively tepid in midfield, toothless up top and lacking commitment from the start. Palace were there for the taking, just like Hull were, but we just didn't control the game like we do at SMS. It's easy to blame Fraser, but nobody comes away with any credit IMO.
Awful. Gave palace everything they needed. We seem to find it impossible to recover from certain situations.
I did mention this some time ago but got shouted down. I won't go over again what I think his faults are but he's not the "wall" he's made out to be.
