My eldest son is taking me tomorrow, just the two of us this year. Normally it would be the three of us, but the youngest is currently travelling around Australia. We will miss him, but still a dad and lad day out - so proud of both of my boys.

bit late ....want badges . ... let me know if I can I will.... hughesy there but not sure if his badges gone as I'm off to wetherby

I can't see beyond Sire de Grugy in the Tingle Creek tomorrow. He comes here in good form, with a very good win last time out.

Yes Un de Sceaux is a big threat but Sprinter Sacre completely destroyed him round here back in April. The biggest threat may well come from Ar Mad, but I think that Sire de Grugy probably has that bit of extra class and race fitness in his favour.

Thank you for the very kind offer. This year I am being treated (tickets anyway) to a day out. I am sure it will end up costing dad a few "bob". I can just hope for a couple of winners to help pay for the day.

Wasn't Sire de Grugy destroyed even futher in that race. I can't see Un De Sceaux being beaten here if he is fit. Only Sprinter Sacre could beat him last year.

The Tingle Creek is a bonus race in the Stable Stars comp. I have both Gods Own and Un Du Sceaux in there, so hopeful I can climb up a bit from second to bottom in our league!

Loads of my horses to follow run today,

Alvarado - prep for Welsh National
Apterix - should follow up but too short
Leoncavallo - really interesting today
Minella Rocco - guess this decides the route he takes this season. Handicaps or graded races. National target?
Vieux Lion Rouge - "aintree in autumn"
Wishfull Dreaming - see how he progresses
Geordie Des Champs - how far can he progress

Out of them VLR and Leoncavallo are bets

13.35 AINTREE- PORTRAIT KING- 33/1ew

Course form over these fences is very important and altho he has fallen the last twice over these, it doesn't tell the whole story- was running well over them when both falls have been late on so obv enjoys theses fences but can just put in the odd error! 2lbs lower than last year when was contending for the places then fell 2out! Looks to have had a couple of decent warm up runs over hurdles and this could be his national!

Nass - one of your stranger fetishes is Leoncavallo, I'm sure there is good reasoning behind it. But if you are looking for a Graded class horse carrying top weight in a handicap I would look no further than Zubayr <ok>
