Are we going to have to start liking Daniel Sturridge. Personally, I'm indifferent as he plays for another club, but a few might have to climb down. According to the Daily Mirror, Sturridge may well join Saints on loan, because he's getting few minutes and we need a quality striker. It's true we do, and Sturridge isn't getting the time at Anfield. Is The Mirror trying to get 1 + 1 to equal 3 or is it just a huge coincidence ?

I should also say the Metro is reporting that we are offering £25M to have him permanently. I wonder what the Black Box has to say about all this.?

I have read a few rumours regarding this, but I believe West Ham were the front runners.

Id have him here. Not going to happen tho

Just thinking about Arsenal next week and it will be strange having a tier of corporates in between the Saints fans. As I believe the middle tier is corporate seats.

How many on here are going and any in upper?

It was suggested on MOTD that Sturridge might want to move on in January. They make it sound so easy....if I'm not played I'll pack my case. He's under contract. Is he really unwanted...an injury to another player and his season turns round. Unless the relationship between him and his club has broken down completely (and there is no sign of that) I cannot see him leaving in January. Paper talk surely.*

*Fran prepares to look a mug.

Only concern is his injury record but a 6 month loan can do no harm - if he proves his fitness then why not? Seems to be going okay for Charlie Austin.

No doubting his ability. Sturridge is a fantastic player and would most likely be our best player apart from Van Dijk. Would be a top signing but I just see him being a bit beyond our reach, we are unlikely to pay either his wages or £25m. Plus I doubt Klopp would let him go in January.

Just watching the example on Saturday when Sturridge dribbled to the bye line, and set Clyne up with the sort of cross Austin would give his right arm for, shows that he has more to his game than just being a goal scorer.
Yes he is greedy, often blinkered, and shoots when he should pass, but definitely an improvement on anyone in our squad, in that position.
Would definitely take him.

Does Charlie need a new arm or did Cedric not take up the offer of an arm for that inch perfect cross on Saturday :)
