It's never straightforward with Rangers is it? You couldn't ask for a better start than a penalty and sending-off in the first minute, but Chery having to wait an eternity for the Norwich player to drag himself off the pitch probably contributed to him making a mess of the kick. We were good value for the 2-0 half-time lead with a welcome goal from Washington - who looked so much happier playing in his natural role - and a good finish from Polter after a sublime through ball by Chery. We seemed flat staring the second half, though, and didn't put Norwich away as we should have done, making for a sweaty finish. It was a bold move from Holloway to go with three CBs, but it was hard to judge how successful the tactic was because the sending-off changed everything and Hall wound up playing CM for most of the first half. Still, a win's a win. Onwards and upwards (hopefully).

I'd take it every week if it were guaranteed.

IMO, it was not the result that counted today. It was the manner in which we performed. A lot more effort, passion and pride, especially in the first half. The last 20 minutes were a little dodgy but maybe they were knackered from the first half effort. A few weeks hard graft on the training ground will sort that out. Overall, I am happy.

Nailed on for one of the automatic spots now.

Happy that the long suffering got to see a home win. Keep it up Ollie. Fine goal from the Big German.

Good to see Sandro mentoring Shodipo after he was chewed out by his team mates for a couple of naive mistakes. Nice touch from the hirsute Brazilian.

Tactically IH got it wrong taking Luongo off. Shape changed in midfield and Norwich looked like the ones playing 11 vs 10. Lucky to hold on. Good result. Plenty of first half positives. Plenty of second half areas for development.

Sandra's beard was biblical, as was the script for today's match. Thanks Ollie! Enjoyed it, as did my kids. And that was never the case with JFH

Great to have a win of course but more so, a winning start for a new manager is paramount.
Isn't it nice to have that 'feel good' feeling back.

Just got home from the game. Great to have a few beers with Roller, Beth & son-in-law, Tramore, Terry B & son, 999 and of course my number one son [Ranger82] and his fiancé before the game.
Excellent result, we played really well for 60 minutes until Luongo went off. Very nervy last 15 minutes. Crap penalty from Chery though.
I traveled back to Norfolk with a lot of very subdued Budgies who sat quietly pecking at their plumage all the way back, nice and peaceful!

Delighted to hear it. Madrid is very sad. 90% of the people wanted Atletico to win the derby. Watched the rugby game and the derby in the James Joyce pub, vast majority of people wanted an Ireland and Atletico win

Always going to be a tough game for Ireland, and it looks as though Real are going to start pulling away.
