chippy's referring to majority of who voted v majority of those eligible to vote.

I wasn't claiming i was right in my post, it was a light hearted comment about being a laughing stock amongst other nations. Which, to many people we are. Boris as foreign minister didn't help.

Fair enough, I just think those against Brexit should stop crying about it and help make it work. They are not happy but vote has been made, it's happening, move on.. ;)

What is the adult population of the UK?
    What % 15,188,406 of it?
I refer you to my previous response.

Nothing is agreed yet.... Hopefully nothing will be.... Lots of hurdles to be crossed and there will be a fight at every stage.

If people never bothered to vote on something so important all fool for them. The fact is there was a vote, the government wanted us to remain, they did everything they could to persuade us it was the right choice but still the leave won.

The government was even told to change the wording on the ballot paper because they were trying to influence the remain vote.

Under the terms of the referendum, there is absolutely no doubt that a Brexit mandate was achieved. To achieve this, a majority vote was required. And it was clearly registered. In any vote, the 'yes' or 'no' terms can only reference those who took the time & trouble to vote. Those who chose not to vote declined their opportunity to help the country decide, and any post-referendum bleatings from them should be ignored.

The fact is you were incorrect that either vote produced a majority for the "winners".
I haven't seen the popular vote figures for the US election did crooked Trump get more votes than crooked Hillary?

For those with the intelligence to want to circumvent the vote of the Great Unwashed, here's the way to do so. All we need is half the population retaining EU citizenship and we will be well on the way.

    http://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknew...u-citizenship/ar-AAk3yZb?li=BBoPWjQ&ocid=iehp

For those who got the answer wrong, you can also do it. Just in case you wake up in a few years time and realise what you've done |<ok>.

Which part is wrong then? Please do point it out in black and white. The MAJORITY voted... did I say of the population, did I say of voters, someone likes to point out the table doesn't lie, well the table that shows who voted for what and who wins and loses doesn't lie either

Chippy you are so much like Trump... Trump says a lot of things for effect, he doesn't mean everything he says but in each sentence there is a snippet of truth. He feels passionate so he cuts to the bone to get a point across.

The majority of the electorate did not vote for Brexit.
The deluded small majority of those who voted made a mistake it is the duty of all patriots to protect the country from the harm their idiocy would unleash if we ever left the EU.

Ristac was talking about the english votes.

The numbers are here for you to see ... http://www.electoralcommission.org....u-referendum/electorate-and-count-information

If you're too lazy to tot it all up (call it an educated guess), then allow me to give you some numbers:

    Eligible Electorate: 34,582,866
    Votes cast (Remain): 13,266,996
    Votes cast (Leave): 15,188,466
Turnout: 82% (or put another way, in order to get a 50/50 vote, you'd need to get 66% of the 6,127,464 non-voters voting Remain, & 33% voting Leave - no chance!).

Interestingly, Yorkshire & Humberside voted 58% to Leave (only East & West Midlands voted higher - 59% each). London only voted 40% to Leave. Perhaps you could emigrate there amongst like-minded people if they won't let you in to Spain :D )

Oh, and I forgot to add for comparison, the english turnout percentages for the UK General Elections have not exceeded 65.8 since the 1997 election, so the Brexit Referendum was approximately a 25% higher turnout! :D

For those who need a lesson in accepting defeat, the Democratic party today took one hell of a beating when they were 1/8 on to win big time. They have accepted eefeat gracefully without wanting a 2nd election
