Agree with the first part but if we concede 5 in a game and still lose repeatedly it won't be long before we start calling for the manager's head on the block. Isn't that what happened with Ramsay. Stacks of goals at the start but when ours dried up and we continued to ship them.............................

Yes, Gus might be an old dinosuar but l know when he coached the Aussie soccer team, he called the shots all round.
Funny thing is, the big clubs you mention are ...................... BIG!
Were just a little club trying to be a big club.
We seem to have more senior management then probably most, which is absurd.

Looks like SLF is about to play his last Spurs card in Dim Tim Sim.
What happens when that doesn't work out?

    Harry ........ ex Spurs.
    Chris ......... ex Spurs.
    Tim .......... ex Spurs.

If we were genuine, we would get rid of SLF and get a decent manager, whether young or older, it doesn't matter.
I believe there certain managers out there that won't look at us because we have a Dof.

Just my thoughts ............... we all have an opinion, which is healthy.

Harry came in before Les and Tim hasn't been appointed so the Spurs Old Boys Club assumption doesn't really wash seeing as it only consists of Ramsay so far.

Southampton put the model in place with Les Reed when they were in League One. It's not the DoF position which is a problem, it's the people who fill that position and the manager role and the way it is all set up.

Agree Sooper but they must get it right this time or more fans will question TF. Remember TF craves being liked and doing his social media stuff. He needs to get it right. No we don't need Dim Tim, Holloway,Ainsworth,Clint,Derry,Bircham,McLeish,Giggs and Co because it will all end in tears. We need to take time and bring in the right person whowill get us playing football again. You never know we might see two upfront at home again.

Poaching a manager has to be taken into consideration. We can't only look into the bargain bin.

I backed JFH for a long time. The Reading game was the last straw for me. I really wish this didn't have to happen but what can we do? We have to try something else.

Sherwood... I would be really afraid that he'd end up headbutting a player like that Northern Irish bloke we had several years ago. We need someone who obviously hasn't mental/emotional issues.

Agreed ...... but you know how we work. We make a mockery out of anything planned and organised.

Sadly, I can't see past Sherwood, just hope I'm pleasantly surprised. He is 1/2 favourite with Sky bet.

Didn't he turn us down before we appointed Ramsey?

I don't have the faintest idea who should or will be our next manager. I'd prefer a foreigner, but I doubt that will be the case, or that it would go down well with a lot of fans. I suspect this time we will retry the Redcrapp experiment, except even lower rent, some old bloke we all know and many of us will hate. Or Sherwood.

I have a real problem, I don't like any of the candidates I've seen so far...:emoticon-0101-sadsm

Heck, after this ongoing debacle with managers at the club, the owners should take-off to, say, Patagonia, and see if they can find a Señor somebody-or-other who has done well with a local team down in that remote part of the world. Can't do any worse than we've been doing lately. Warnock was the best IMHO, can't see what the hell he ever did wrong?

Please excuse the rant, guys. Just the way I feel about football and managers at the moment.

I'd have to agree. I just looked at the Oddschecker list of about 50 potential candidates and there were only two that I could get remotely enthusiastic about - Clement and Giggs.

I believe the story at the time was that the club and Sherwood couldn't reach an agreement. He remains a close friend of LF if you can believe all you read. There must be a Manager out there somewhere that doesn't have the name of Karl Henry indelibly printed on his brain.

We were far from consolidating under JFH, we were just getting worse, both tactically and in commitment.
If that didn't come over when watching a game on TV then please believe me that when you were there, it was very obvious to most who were.
