Some say there's no jobs ! well My employers 2 years ago opened a depot,where there is (no fookin jobs) yes Leeds,they wanted 4 drivers and 4 drivers mates to do deliveries.After 4 months and unable to find 8 people who could get out of bed 5 days running they shut it again and returned to delivering from Cheshire.

Based on personal experience, I beg to differ. The PIP process is an inexcusable and deliberate attempt to deny benefits to those who truly deserve them. It has gone too far the opposite way. If MPs had to go through a similar process for expenses, we'd save more than this benefits purge. My wife has MS. This time it has hit her brain co-ordination centre, which rendered her speech almost unintelligible, and shot her balance to pieces, requiring a stick to move over short distances. After filling in about a 40 page application form, she went for an assessment. As part of this, she was required to stand unaided for 30 seconds, and answer some questions. Result? They concluded that she could walk with a normal gait for 200 metres or more unaided, plus she could 'obviously' speak well enough to do her job as a teacher (although they were told a number of times she had retired 3 years earlier). Either howling incompetence all round, or a concerted effort to deny people what is rightfully theirs. Basically, Marko is correct. It's a hugely unfair process. We had been told beforehand by the Citizen's Advice Bureau to expect to fail our application, as everyone did the first time around & had to appeal. We naively though Mrs WJ's case was so obvious that she could not fail. She did. And the appeal has not been 100% successful either, as a DWP pen-pusher who's never met Mrs WJ appears to know better than her GP. I suspect Marko has had similar difficulties, as does everyone else. And what little has been given has to be reassessed every 5 years. Just in case someone grows another leg or something equally impossible.

says the assessment is to work out how much she should get.I take it she got something in the end,the correct result.I do believe there should be an assessment though as its not free money it does have to come from tax payers.The highest amount should be for someone who is unable to drive and has no one to drive her.
The ballence has to be right,I posted a comment about the healthy London guy with 1 kid about 6-7 years old.He received £23,000 a year tax free or £460 pounds a week for doing nothing.I work 45 hrs a week and don't get that,yet my money is taken from me and given to him.Go on tell me that's fair.
It's everywhere mate. I've neighbours either side of me who have never worked a day in their lives, their children now grown up and followed exact same path. My vat and taxes every two months pays those lazy ****s. I'll likely be in my coffin long before them from burnout. Just the way it is
The point I was trying to make is that the assessment carried out by the DWP was either handled by an incompetent, or someone instructed to fail the applicant by any means possible (parallel - your house burns down, but the insurance company gives you bugger all because you fail to mention that you claimed for a broken sink 7 years ago).Got it
It is supposed to be a bare minimum payment to get by until you get back into work,They do seem to unfairly hastle some in need while letting far too many make it a lazy life style choice.

Don't think benefit was meant to be a career choice but is for some while others get nothing. My wife now has arthritis in one shoulder meaning she's had to give up her job working with me. Because we've our own little company, she doesn't qualify for anything despite paying all her taxes and insurances for last 15 years
I do agree they seem to single out the sick and elderly when they should be pushing the able bodied into work.But the abuse of the system should be clamped down on and given to them in need,Corbyn wouldn't do this,he would allow more to abuse the system.
