Just watching some of the US Grand Prix and wondering why there aren't any American F1 drivers, all those people and none of them have what it takes? Seems odd.

Top Gear did an episode didn't they, about Nascar. They said Yanks just don't like the perpetual element to F1, how refined it is, as it's motorsports engineering at it's very best. They prefer the loud noise, the crashes, the fact that they can roast a hog at the side of the track and drink beer until they pass out. F1 is a pompous sport, it's the rich man's play ground.

I can't stand F1 anymore, it's a tragic sport.

Got married in York 19 years ago today.
Got some family coming down from Hebburn and meeting up for a bit of a lunch and catch up on the Saturday.

Well away from the footballing side of things i had a pretty good time away.
Took the grand kids who live in Mansfield area to the cinema to see Trolls, then had a fish n chip supper before staying over in Worksop.
Drove up to York on the Friday and had a top meal out at Guy Fawkes Pub where we had our wedding reception 19 years ago.
Saturday we managed to get into the Minster and got into an evening choral service which was surprisingly bloody good.
Had a ghost tour in the evening before more food and a couple of drinks as well.
All in all a tip top break, anyone hasn't been to York...its well worth the visit.
The wife is now arranging a break in November next year in the lakes as its been a while since we went out walking.
Stay at Ambleside which is as good a base as any to explore.

You probably don't need any mate but if you want one or two cracking walks off the beaten track give me a pm. <ok>

Cheers Rooch, we have done loads of walks and no doubt missed a lot of the good ones too.
We stay at the John Lewis Hotel right at the top of Windermere not far from the ferry landings.
They have bikes that we occasionally take out as well, good exercise up and down them bloody hills.
Drop me a line or just dump them "off the beaten track walks" on here and i will see if we can do one or two.
We like being up in the hills mainly for the fantastic views, but come next November who knows what the weather is going to be like.
When the time comes if i remember i might take some piccies and post them on here.
