I voted for Owen and Merson, but agree it was a motley crew. Would have been obvious who to vote for had there been some real standouts. Owen gets my vote as I have heard some of the biggest loads of mediocre bilge emanating from his gob, and Merson gets the other because he's equally as guilty and because he's Merson.
Truthfully, the most intelligent thing I've heard Michael Owen say was Whoops-a-Daisy, when describing a Mane nutmeg on Tom Cleverly. Merson has yet to say anything which can be described as intelligent.

Savage I find talks a lot of nonsense and the few things he does say are just copied off what someone else has already told him

e.g. Keep an eye out next time he's on MOTD extra on a Sunday and then MOTD2 Sunday evening. He will repeat in the evening something the more informed journalist told him at lunch, as if it were his own fact/stat that he knew.

Crooks annoys me just because of his apparentl lack of interest of anyone outside the top 5 or London, yet the way he speaks is as if he's the greatest gift to football punditry since broadcasting began.



At least with Merson everyone knows he's talking garbage most of the time - I think he knows it too. And so none of them take him too seriously.

Owen is just boring. I never see of hear Crooks but have heard he is terrible.
Voted Savage cos he is like a **** version of a talksport presenter ... and that is beyond bad. I voted Lawrenson cos he can not get beyond being a liverpool fan and it affects what he says to the point of being stupid.
Carragher is a pool fan but he is able to be impartial at least some of the times.
 
Rarely listen to any of them anyway. I tune out when they're on and wake up again when actual football is being shown. Thought everyone did that? As for listening to commentary, I only pay attention to that when I'm watching on the radio.

****, that was hard!! I was bouncing around all over the place. Eventually went for Crooks coz he is a complete knobhead & actually Owen - because as much as I detest Savage, I do find him funny sometimes. Owen can be just dumb & boring. He just, JUST edged Carragher. Good call Godders.
 
Savage was the summariser for 5 live when we played City and did a decent job. He's also good on 606 so he's not nearly as bad as Crooks or Owen.
