Hopefully while working with BFS Mcdonald will have picked up some tips on how to organise a team .. something which Mr Phelan seems to have forgotten about
Not read the full thread yet so unsure if it's been mentioned already but he was also number 2 to Dowie, it'd be nice to get him back as well. If we're gonna **** things up we might as well do it properly!
If Mcdonald does have a good relationship with Allardyce and it paves the way for Big Sam to come in then good stuff. He is our only hope. Sooner the better for me. Whether he would come or not i dont know.
I don't think he'd touch the job with a barge pole. Can you imagine the salary he'd be offered by daft lad?
I'm with you on this CG - Big Sam will know all about the behind the scenes shenanigans at the KC from his good mate Brucie, he might be tempted under new owners but certainly not under this rabble. He doesn't come cheap either, the press reported him as being on c.£3 mill at West Ham and even more at Sunderland.
Agreed. The Allams got strict on people benefitting personally from scouting and transfers and look what happened. No chance BFS is coming here.
when SB ****ed off, he took our goalkeeping coach and, through the promotion of MP, we lost our head coach. so it was SB that ****ed us over... thank you for that Bruce you ****. Now as manager, Phelan can concentrate on the running of the club. we have got a head coach in McDonald. time for you soggy farts to get behind MP. its like our season is beginning 10 games in.
It was Phelan's words, our manager, he thought playing Marshall would give the players more confidence; he was talking before we started getting comprehensively beat every week - that only started when we played Marshall ... I can't comment on how Marshall played when with Cardiff, I know he was well rated, but what was his style? I see a GK playing for us who doesn't exhibit any real athleticism, did he have it then? I see a GK who seems to rely on his positioning and judgement of ball flight and I think that is fine, but the two facets are needed at this level. I think Jak's ability to get down to a ball, to dive at full stretch and palm it away (yes it will sometimes go to the opposition but that happens to all GK) is something we have missed, nearly as much as we have missed any inkling of an attacking game-plan. I defended Jak when everyone jumped on his back, I am not attacking Marshall now, but there is a style that worked for us and Jak employs it, Marshall doesn't. There is absolutely nothing bizarre in reviewing the GK when you are shipping so many goals - although he shouldn't be reviewed in isolation and I don't think anyone is. You say "people are looking for these simple reasons why we're ****. It must be the formation or players not in their 'correct' positions, or the keeper ffs. Maybe it's a bit deeper than any of that." It's a game of football and faults usually are quite simple as it's not really a complex game; is it? I recall when we were down to the bare-bones in players (of senior status) and I suggested that changes to position (Jake) might have come from training ground discussion (it happens, under those circumstances, despite the outrage on here); subsequent events have now convinced me that might can be replaced with most probably. Why do I say that? MP has always been a No. 2; an assistant. It is the assistant who gets among the players, he gauges mood and looks for responses to situations. He will then bounce this off the manager and offer his take on it, but it will be the manager who will make any decisions. I think MP has lacked a sounding-board; he has shown, in his selections, his tactics and his interviews that he is a tad naive; he has also shown, in his interviews that he lacks any deep confidence. This will infect any team and it has, in my opinion infected ours. I never wanted MP as our manager but I also thought it was inevitable due to the ownership fiasco. I can only hope that now McDonald has come in, MP can regain some composure, focus on what is his and let McDonald work with the players. I doubt he (MP) has the managemnent skills, but he is what we have so good luck to him, as it has been a tortuous journey so far.
thought he nabbed him, Steve Someonorother. ah youre right, SB just wants him. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/stev...-aston-villa/story-29835652-detail/story.html
Hmmm Why the **** is stilll on this forum i dont know. Ban the **** he's just an annoying ****ing wUM
The manager doesn't run the club. He manages the team. The club is more than just the players who run around kicking the ball.
