https://southamptonfc.com/news/2016-10-14/southampton-fixtures-tv-changes-december-January Some fixture changes - including us being shifted from Boxing Day. First of all it's quite upsetting to lose a boxing day fixture...and secondly to now have to play 3 premier league fixtures in 6 days is surely unfair?
Keeping my Fixture list & season stats spreadsheet up to date was so much easier when we were never on TV & always out of cups as soon as we entered. If I have to keep adjusting dates\times, I know we're having a good season!
Thirded ! Always loved the Wimbledon free kick & the Blackburn strike & the Arsenal final! Probably my best 3 but what do I know!
Which one.? Personally, I prefer the nonchalant volley after first trapping the ball on his thigh. Apparently, he was knackered because he'd been up all night with his child, and so he chose the easiest way out - just score. I particularly like both those goals because pre-match, Andy Gray had been saying things about luxury players and how they so often don't contribute - with obvious reference to MLT. And Matt gave him the perfect answer. All Gray could do on the commentary was purr at the sheer brilliance. Lead commentator Martin Tyler didn't need converting. He was always a believer. He's back in the grand manner, was his tribute, in reference to the fact that ridiculously, Ian Branfoot had actually dropped Matt for several games. What a complete berk. He was also a big enough berk to think that dropping Matt had made him play better.
Noticed in one of Franny's videos today, where He and Matty entered White Hart Lane, they were met by Gary Mabbutt. A player who I had a lot of time for way back then. One, because I thought him a good, decent, honest professional, but moreover because he greatly admired Matty. He was once interviewed during a Player of the Year evening, and he explained why he'd voted for Matt. He said [along the lines of], most players today are predictable. You can read their intentions. Matt Le Tissier is completely unpredictable. Before you've any idea, Matt has gone past with the ball. I also noticed that Gary Mabbutt was much fatter than Matty, who looked rather slim against him, until Franny turned up between them.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 Bertrand talking about how he needs to play and it isn't all about money. His Mum and agent stopped him joining Arsenal or City in his teens...should always listen to your Mum.
U21s is far more exciting than watching Rooney plod about Wembley, I'll be looking to go to this. A core of Southampton players as well.
Having watched the U21s at Walsall this week, I would strongly recommend going. Far more entertaining than the useless full team
https://www.clubcall.com/southampton/saints-star-plays-down-england-claims-1828449.html Austin playing down suggestions about an England call up. I would be pleased for him as a person, but I would prefer to keep Austin fresh for us. And I'm not sure he is an international player....though probably good enough for England He scores for us, playing with our team, but even in the match against Burnley, he got his feet caught up a couple of times. He hasn't got the nippy feet of a Redmond....I think you need that (and the goal poaching) to be an international player. SRL used to be called an old fashioned centre forward....which we all know he wasn't, he had so much more...but Austin is in my opinion. Interestingly, Austin seems to think the City game is more important than the Milan one.
