What the **** is that sentence supposed to say?
Think its just missing two commas, think it's supposed to read:

And United, the very reason you punched above your weight, dull boy.

Punctuation is very important, punctuation is the difference between "Helping your Uncle Jack, off a horse" and "Helping your uncle jack off a horse"

How is your Uncle Jack these days? ... and how's his horse? ... poor animal never seemed to know whether it was coming or going ... at least not until Jack leant a hand <whistle>

Thanks for the attempt to make him more coherent, but while that's now an actual sentence, it still makes no sense.
In what way is that a reply to either what I posted or his initial comment? He's lost it, I'm afraid.

Jack is fine, and the horse has no complaints :)

Just been catching up with the media stuff, and I note that Poch is saying that it's too early to be talking about the title.

Good man.

He's leaving that kind of talk until later in the season.

Quite right too.
Otherwise you end up with "Can we win the title this season" articles after PL week 5.

There's obviously a North London power shift going on almost continuously.
When I was young Spurs were winning everything in sight and Arsenal were mid-table. That shifted dramatically in 1971 and Arsenal eventually moved ahead. Spurs were very poor just prior to the Champions League starting but have been clawing their way back over the last ten years. More shifts will come. An obvious candidate for a thread.

That excuse might wash if it was called the 'power shifting' thread.

13 league titles to 2. 12 FA cups to 8. Top 4 and champions league every season for the last two decades and Spurs not winning a major trophy for 25 years says that the power resides firmly in N5

<ok>

Really! Everything in sight! You must be very old! Because the pattern below does not support the idea of Spurs winning everything in sight before 1971 and Arsenal been a mid table team compared to Spurs see below. I would say there never has been a north London power shift as it only exists in the minds of HIAG and other Spurs supporters like him. One could say Arsenal took a breather and Spurs won couple of league titles by the looks of the pattern <whistle>:emoticon-0126-nerd::emoticon-0127-lipss:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Spurs:
First division/premier league winners 2, 1950-51 and 1960-61

Arsenal:
First division/premier league 13: 1930-31 1932-33 1933-34 1934-35 1937-38 1947-48 1952-53 1970-71 1988-89 1990-91 1997-98 2001-02 2003-4

I'm old enough to rememeber when the FA Cup was considered to be on par with the League (as were European competitions). Spurs won 5 major trophies in the sixties, more than anyone else. Even today, when fewer different clubs win, five trophies in a decade would be good going. Arsenal didn't win a single trophy in the 60s: it seemed like a power shift then.

oh so the goal post has moved again...you are counting just the 60's now...what about before or after or the number of the trophies!

Like I said maybe Arsenal took a breather and you boys won a few trophies at the time, we are charitable to our neighbours you know <whistle>:emoticon-0128-hi:

My original post said 'when I was young' That was the 60s!
Are you training to be Piskie - your nearly as pedantic as him.
Even if you meant 60's I am not a mind reader that you meant 60's but mentioned 71 as the shift year...but the fact remains you won the league once and fa cup 3 times in the 60's so its still bit amusing you claiming winning everything in sight!

It's just a figure of speech. We were the first team to win the double for over 60 years, the first English team to win a UEFA trophy (we've still got three times as many of those as Arsenal have!) and one of the few teams to retain the FA Cup, all in the space of three years. Doesn't sound too shabby.

I'm just ensuring that there is accuracy.

It's necessary when you spuds start banding around wild speculation and try to pass it off as fact.

Shabby enough considering it was so so so long ago. How long can the average dreamer dream? Is it still in black and white Pathe?

So in your biggest decade as you put is the 60's and you won the league twice and we had won it seven times before hand (not looking like great for a power shift from 70's)...

Spurs won the EUFA cup winners cup once and Europa League twice..Arsenal won EUFA cup winners cup once.....Nothing worth bragging about.

We have retained the FA Cup several times as well, I am not sure what you mean by in the space of 3 years, 60-61 61-62 and the next one was 66-67 gaps longer than 3 years dude...We have done the invincible season as well since...

We have achieved far more before and after your so called golden (Black and White) years and the Great North London Power Shift....I really don't see what was the big power shift still.........
