Successful window IF we get another striker in and either hold onto Enrique or replace him properly.

so you wouldn't be too impressed if obertan was your last signing? and if Enrique went, based on past form would he replaced properly or would the fee for him vanish into Fat Ashley's back pocket.

Well we don't have another left back and have supposedly bid for a couple good ones already so I'd be confident FMA isn't stupid enough to leave us short in a valuable position. And no I wouldn't be impressed, we need another striker but I am confident we'll get one.

Well blow me sideways and call me an old sea dog. Trolingmong doesnt rate another of our signings/targets.

Well, thats it for me. As he is so unbiased and is simply being constructive in his critique I an accept his thinking totally. It isn't that he is absolutely jealous to his back molars that we have the money, management, owners and ambition to bring real EPL experience to our season, that leads him to talk utter cak on a daily basis. Is it?

I just wish Bruce would **** off targeting top quality lads with massive EPL experience and instead opt for the much more enlightened transfer policy of Fatman and Partridge. Surely we too should be looking to bring totally unheard of and unproven players into our club. It doesnt make sense that we have gone for the likes of O Shea, Brown, Vaughan, Gardener, Larsson etc and also brought in one of the brightest young starlets in the English game. Why havent we gone for Ober Tan Salon and a host of Froggy no hopers. Why havent we peddled our best players, not replaced them and then caused utter havoc in the ranks 2 weeks before kick off.

Does SNQ and Bruce know what they are doing FFS? Useless ****ers building us a solid and strong squad when what we needed was a weakened one with no strikers.

but theres a world of difference between getting one in and getting one in who will do the job. Again, I know I'd be bricking it if I was depending upon FMA to invest in the squad. but I'm sure that (this time) he'll do the right thing and spend 8/9/10 million on a top class signing.

SWP has been pants for a few years, end of. Your opinion as a Sunderland fan is just as biased as mine and I havn't been constantly slating all of your signings.

As I was saying I'm glad our club has opted out of signing players with no re-sale value and perhaps not much left in the tank. Could do a job for you, as could Obertan for us, and both probably will, but neither are overly impressive signings imo.

And another thing, SWP hasn't signed for you yet ffs.

The reason why I'm confident of new signings is because Pardew has said we need then and we've been bidding for atleast 3 I know of recently (Erding, Barnetta, Obertan) but I wouldn't be completely shocked if everything went tits up again

What happened with Erding, bid accepted, no way will he get near a game at PSG, yet no movement.

I REALLY want you to sign him & Obertan.

Do you not think your bit short at CB as well?

    And RB.

When we were rumoured to be signing SWP the volume of the Noooooooo! I let out had everyone in the same room jump out of their skin.

Do not rate him, do not want him. Over the hill mercenary. Adam Johnson is someone that would make me sick if he signed for you but since it seems to be SWP im assuming AJ isnt available for loan

I'm in the 'neither for or against' camp on SWP.

I just don't know if he'll have an impact, but there's no doubt that in his time he's had spells of brilliance.

If the fee and wages are reasonable (they must be, as Wigan & Bolton have had the same bid accepted, they don't spend big), it's a decent punt.

Underwhelmed by SWP, could never be a catholic as no good when it comes to crosses - reminds me of Forrest Gump - you would have to make sure the stadium exits are shut as he would be off into the north sea or across to Carlisle, fast and tricky enough just lack of end product.

No doubt the media luvvies would swoon at his signing and his Father might acknowledge Sunderland exist.

Nah, I reckon we've got more than enough at CB to keep us ticking over. RB is another matter for me as I don't rate Simpson overly highly.. Our staff seems to though and we've got some backup there too so can't see us signing another this window.

Erding didn't want to leave PSG and they wanted him to stay also, must be getting a few games next season I spose. Not worried anyway as I've never seen him play

    Really?

I thought they basically told him he wouldn't play and accepted your bid?

Gamiero & Hoarau are surely first choice, and Jeremy Menez was often used up front by AS Roma last season (superb player, BTW), so i don't see many games for a painfully slow Turk who can't shoot and went 16 games without a goal last season, costing PSG Champions League football.

You got any other targets up top, i ain't heard anything?

Yeah I read those reports too, made a bit of a U-turn though it seems.

Kierrison and Shane Long are getting linked atm. I'd take Long any day but some people are jizzing over being linked with Kierrison just because Barcelona paid €14m odd for him and are looking past the point he has been a flop...

Havn't seen him play though tbh.

I think both clubs have made good signings in there own right

we needed that bit of grit and determination added into the side and premier league experience and we have added that with the likes of Brown, O'Shea, Gardner and Larsson.

We have also spent our money very wisely with Vaughan and Westwood coming into the fold as free signings. The new English wonderkid in Wickham as our (at the moment) big money signing along with the gamble signing (that looks like it will pay off) in Ji Dong-Won.

As for the toon I think Cabaye will be a realy good signing for them and Marvaux I know him and Gyan were brilliant for Rennes a couple of season's back its just can he stay fit same with Demba Ba, the only downside they have lost a leader in Nolan and look set to lose another of there main men from last season in Barton.

If we can bring in SWP, Bellamy and this young Irish kid I think we have had a fantastic summer probably the best ever, and we will of brought in some good players with a hell of a lot of premier league experience between them. Since Quinny took over there is a bigger picture now before it was Sunderland n Newcastle n the rivallry, that rivallry is there but now we are looking to push on and do something which is exciting for the club and we aint going about it chucking money we don't have here and there after recouping 42m from the departures of Bent and Henderson.

Keirrison moved too young, fell into the lifestyle and was nowhere near ready, he went to Benfica and was average, then went onto Fiorentina and was ****ing woeful.

Hell of a gamble, but he's very quick, and was once seen as a real talent, seems unlikely that moving to a physical league in a cold country is the way.

Shane Long, i like very much.

We were linked January, so i kept an eye on him tail end of season, he is a very good player, his finishing is incredibly natural, and he proved in the play offs semi-finals he can handle the bigger stage.

He'd be a good signing for you, not at the pathetic £7million Reading quoted us though, bearing in mind Danny Graham, the leagues top scorer, went for £3.5million.

Always rated Long. Even when he was with Reading in the EPL and wasn't scoring that often, you could still see he was a quality player and he was only 20 or so at the time. He's improved massively since then and at £5m would be a hell of a signing. Right age, low wages too.
