Yes, I did see one. In 1979, in the skies over Hertfordshire. It was witnessed by at least 100 people.

Then, last Winter, both myself and my eldest watched one "skip" across the sky above our house.

Hope you've got a wetsuit. It looks ****ing cold in there!...

Wetsuit is mandatory in UK waters. Sometimes I can get away with a shortie in the summer, but only if the air temp is 20 deg +

The water is actually at its warmest now, when it's had the whole summer to heat it up. It's around 15/16 deg at the moment.

Coldest in March when it's cooled down over the winter, usually accompanied with cold air temps and N winds. Most of the guys here wear full winter suits, hoods, gloves and boots. Personally I can't stand the extra neoprene. So I'll surf shorter sessions, until I can't feel my toes !
