People who have bought tickets for family without crediting them to that specific family member's account over the past few seasons to get tickets together/beat the priority rules have been fine with this loophole (whatever), but can't be pissed off when it suddenly doesn't work in their favour.

Totally agree - I'm one of the people who use that loophole (as I said above), and had Inter not been checking passports, my Brother would be travelling to this match on my membership - he's working under the Alps for 6 months doing physics, so it's a short journey for him & I can't make it.
We read the rules, realised it wasn't going to work so I didn't buy a ticket. He's checking his other options instead - it wasn't hard to not buy a ticket.

That is absolutely ridiculous...!!

The wording from the club about account and passport details matching was not 'clear' as some people seem to suggest. If it was that clear then people would not have chanced it.

Here is the wording taken directly from the OS and nowhere there is it made clear that the name, DOB and passport details entered at point of purchase have to match the season ticket or membership. If anybody can point me in the direction of the bit that actually states that then good luck to them.

Please note, Italian law requires that we collect the name, date of birth and passport number of every supporter attending the game, and record this against the details of their seat. This information will be collected online at the point of purchase.

Only the supporter registered against the ticket will be admitted to the stadium. Internazionale will be checking the ID of every supporter at the turnstiles and will compare this to the information that the club has sent them.

Whoever designed the purchasing part of the web site is at fault as well as surely it couldn't have been that difficult to pre-fill the name and DOB fields and make them read-only so that the only piece of information that could be entered was the passport number. It wasn't like that though, all fields were fully editable so you could put in whatever details you wanted to.

The allocation announcements are also partly to blame as when initially saying that 5000 and only 5000 tickets would be available this meant that a bit of a scramble was triggered as people used other accounts to make sure they got a ticket before the full and final allocation of 5000 sold out. To then go and release another 3700 tickets on top of that when the club must already have known that tickets were being purchased with different season tickets or memberships is quite frankly a bit of a joke.

Just to be clear, I am a happy bunny as my ticket was purchased on my season ticket so I don't have any problems but I have a few mates who have tried to take the shortcut, as well as obviously reading about other people in posts on here who have done the same. I feel angry and disappointed for them as the club have not done themselves any favours by getting into the position where they have to ring their own supporters (sorry, customers...!!) to tell them they can't take part in one of the biggest occasions in the club's history.

At the time of your mates trying to buy those tickets there were only 5000 available with a real chance of them being sold out. What your mates were doing was trying to jump the queue ahead of other Saints fans with the possibility that some eligible ones wouldn't be able to go. Obviously cheating people out of their rights doesn't play on their (or your) conscience. And you feel angry and disappointed at the club!

Cant see anyone, who bought a ticket under "false / mistaken" pretences being worried about a match ticket refund. The majority of flight transport won't be refundable, so they'll probably go regardless & just try their luck. Gate entry will be very interesting!! <laugh>

Edit: Unless, they'll now be able to re-order correctly but clock is ticking ..........

I do have concerns about the gate prematch.

I mentioned earlier that this doesn't even account for the people who have matched the names up but are just hoping Inter are slack.

I can see it being a nightmare to be honest. Gonna get there as early as possible.

Also there will be no 'cancelled' tickets as they won't have been sent out yet.

The topic that is being discussed on SW at the moment stems from a Man City fan who has been suspended for lending his ticket to someone else....personally I think there is more to it than that as the person concerned was stopped from entering using the ticket...was he perhaps banned?, was he trying to get in on a concession ticket?, or was this a regular event and City think this was a tout. People like to jump on the Wagon Outrage without getting all the facts. No club just picks on a random bloke and check his ID.

Think it was a United fan and don't they do id checks at away games now?

Know they have had big problems for a long time with away games. There was a fan on ja606 who has held a ST for 10 years and applied for every away game in that period and never got a single ticket <yikes>

On another note does anyone know why Saints have put in the purchase history requirement for only last 2 seasons?

Seems a bit silly to me when we won't sell out.

Just a heads up to anyone who has gained a ticket using someone else's account - the club are ringing round to these people to effectively say that your ticket is invalid because it doesn't match the account. I guess this was well known that it might happen, though I wish they had been a little more explicit.

I'll be speaking to them myself tomorrow to assess my own situation (having used my parents account) and will try and summarise the call.

So does anybody on here know someone that has received one of these phone calls yet...??

I think that was when they set up the current system (anyone correct me if wrong!)

Are you talking about when they updated the system and said all previous history was erased? Thought that was 2012 but not 100%...

My point really was that why is there these restrictions when we won't sell out?

I understand it for home domestic games but just seems a bit needless for this one. The only thing I can think of is if it's something Inter insisted on.

Why is it silly..? I think its a good idea. You want the rest of the tickets sold to anyone just to fill out our allocation?

I'm pretty sure the whole name matching the passport is an Inter or maybe UEFA thing, not a Saints one. The easiest way to counter anyone lying about it is to match it to purchase history.

What you're talking about is as Inter/Italian law thing for sure but that's not what I'm talking about.

I'm talking about how your purchase history HAS to be from LAST season or this, even if already registered on database. I don't understand why.

Not ANYONE no, where did i say that? but there could be plenty of reasons that genuine Saints fans didn't attend a game last season or yet this.

So I'm not saying open it up full general sale I'm asking why the limit on the purchase history? Different thing entirely.
