Nobody Who pulls on a Swans Shirt is a Joke, And anyone who comes here will be given the history and passion of this club, players and manager alike. We will never be like Cardiff. We have had the same style for a while so change could be good. Having sat through the Hull game I felt total despair. Lets all get behind the new manager and team and give it time. Whoever owns the club will want success as well so cheer up. The Swans need a leader look at Alex Ferguson at United he was hardly ever at the training ground but was a great manager of people, maybe our Bob is the same type we will see..............

A great article Taff and a real debunking of Savage.

My reaction to anything savage says when it comes to football is "so what, who cares". He has my respect as an Ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Society though.

Don't think we'll be relegated, I think we have a squad good enough to stay in the prem.

Agree I think it was an owners who appointment too. It could well work to our advantage though because now we are under the microscope here and especially in the States. All of American Soccer is looking our way so the Owners dare not let the club become an American nightmare, their egos hopefully would never allow that.

Re transfers, I personally think we did well. You say we haven't replaced Williams but I beg to differ. Off the pitch his personality is irreplaceable and will always be missed but on the pitch I fell van der Hoorn has looked pretty good in the few games he's played so the Williams loss isn't so bad. The big loss in the transfer window was not signing Joe Allan, imo. This was due to Guidolins insistence that we sign Fer in the off season. Because he signed Fer, a central midfielder, I suspect the owners felt there was no need to sign a second central midfielder. Still it was a huge error by the owners compounding Guidolins initial mistake.

I know too that some keep banging on about Ayew but last season he book ended very poor displays where he did nothing but self advertise his availability, with a couple of half decent performances at the beginning and at the end of the season. We haven't missed his goals either as Fer, his replacement I suppose, to his credit has stepped up and is on course to beat Ayew's tally. We haven't missed Ayew at all imo.

As for the rest, we signed two decent strikers now, dumped off Gomis and that French geezer, loaned out Bartley and a couple of youngsters for experience and, as we have always have done, signed a youngster with bags of potential in Mawson.

Things didn't look good from the off. We were lucky to beat Burnley and continued the awful football we played last year under Guidolin, into this season. Imo, it was Guidolin who took away our style by insisting we play a system and style the squad wasn't build to play. He's gone now so I expect our new Coach to coach us back to a style of play we're familiar with.

I see our performances and results improve dramatically under Bradley, not because he's a brilliant coach, the jury is out on that one, but because we have the players who have the systems Guidolin removed built into their legs. They have the mental familiarity and muscle memory of a system which works for us, all Brad has to do is let them play the way they know.

There is no point on putting a downer on Bob as nobody has the bases on that until he has had a number of games under his belt ....To say he will send us down and be like Cardiff is a ludicrous thing to say.......We are miles ahead of cardiff on our worst day and have been for at least 7-8 seasons and that dont look like changing or even close to changing....We have to realize that we have new owners now and where they are from is immaterial as their money is as good as the next man and as they see our club as a good prospect to spend £110m on then they have the right to do what they want and why would anyone want to do something to harm their investment........They have been very patient up until now and have seen us struggle so now they have exercised their right to do something and employed an American manager the first one in the UK and what is so bad about that when the Premiership and the rest of the divisions are full of all sorts of nationalities managing clubs....I an happy to see us trying to do something new after the last couple of seasons and i dont know if it will work out or not but i cant say it will be a disaster as we have not tried yet and i have no option that to trust the club which is right and proper.....

Guidolin was a pawn in the American takeover with Jenkins and the board . When things turned around and we knew we were staying up under Guidolin I think the Americans got back into the takeover 100% . Jenkins wanted to show the Americans he was the one calling the shots again in the takeover and gave Guidolin the 2 year contract , I believe against the American wishes . Soon as the Americans payed their 110 million for the 60% ( more than the original with less %) , the writing was on the wall for the first opportunity sacking of Guidolin to bring in " Their Man "

If FG had won some games and we looked good and not one dimensional then he would still be the manager today..He was just not good enough and it showed, He could not handle the premiership and im not saying Bob will but we have tried FG and he failed to produce the goods that we know our players have in their locker....There is no conspiracy against FG at all.....He was in full control of his destiny and sadly for him it was not good enough and had to be replaced....

Forget all that Huw Jenkins killed the dinosaurs bullshit for a minute Roof and answer honestly.

Do you honestly believe that Guidolin was doing a good job while here?

Were you happy with the results under Guidolin and the style he asked us to play?

Were you happy that Guidolin sacrificed our best player, our ATTACKING midfielder Gylfi Thór Sigurðsson to the wing, in order to play a CENTRAL midfielder, Leroy Fer, in his place?

Were you happy Montero didn't even make the bench and is not match fit enough to play 90 minutes, after a ore-season and 7 full games?

Were you happy that Guidolins poor selection policy, incomprehensible tactics, poor substitutions completely compromised any chances we had of winning a game as well as demoralized the players?

That's why Guidolin was sacked when he was Roof, not because of some cludoesque conspiracy involving Huw Jenkins, a rope, in the boardroom. His performance as manager didn't credit more time. He was sacked because he wasn't right for us and we weren't right for him and this is not an opinion its based on position, points and potential.
Has your bizarre hatred for Huw Jenkins burned all of this from your mind Roof? he didn't deserve another second here.

There was no writting on the wall when the Americans arrived but after the Liverpool game there was a six foot neon sign which read "Francesco Guidolin, you are the weakest link, goodbye"

I don't like all this hate coming from you buddy and I wish you'd stick to the football because like me and everyone else on here, we don't have a clue about what goes on in the boardroom. We can only guess and come up with stories to fit our agendas, but we do not and we will never know, what the fekk goes on in there.

The reality of it all is that the club, our club, is a business and we, us fans, are not part of the business, never have been. We are consumers, nothing more and we consume the product of the business which is the football. The business maintains the product through the decisions it makes and from our point of view, the fans point of view, based entirely on rumor, conjecture and backed up by 0% facts, the decision can appear ugly. All we can do is continue to support the product and get our weekly fix.

Sacking Guidolin was most certainly the right decision to do imo Roof but like many I'm not so sure about Bradley but, the team hasn't kicked a ball with his stamp on yet so time will tell us if the decision to appoint him was a good one and whether Brad is our budd or an American dudd. Till I know for sure he gets my support 100%, as did Guidolin in the beginning.

^^^ Beat me to it Swamp. <ok> One of your best posts if I may say so. That's why I shared some info (which isn't like me at all) on the 'Inside Track' thread because it gives an insight into how the players have reacted to the changes. Unsuprisingly, Roof has tried to rubbish that too. <doh> The bug that's up his arse has been living there for the past 18 months or so.

Taff I wonder if they will still be saying he is the first American to coach in the PL in every news report for the next 2 or 3 years. It is tiresome now its only going to get worse. Yes we all know he is the first American now give it a rest.

He's saying all the right things though:

"For me Alan Curtis will be very important, he's going to be my older brother - only a little older. His sense of the club, his eye, his experience will be important. I'm working on getting the right balance."
