I'm not getting involved in it. You will all swear at a Tory fanboy leaver like me. I will simply say that the "foreign workers list" part will open a can of worms that you have all said isn't real of factories, farmers and employers that in secret have for years been questioned by government depts for failing diversity quotas.........for having not enough British workers. My sister is head QA at one and they are in trouble and fined every year but they don't care as it is all behind doors. At least this way they can still say "We can't get local workers so we had to go to an agency" they will be asked "so why don't you use local agencies that give locals work instead of the pretend little offices that sign their workers up in Poland." They said this when a new sandwich company opened near Derby very close to one that closed just months earlier "can't get local workers to do this work." They are liars. Carlsberg in the same area even said it was nonsense and that there is no problem getting low skill British Workers in that area. My final word on this. Lincoln City are 2nd.
You don't redistribute wealth across the globe by taking away all their talent and potential!!! That is half of the problem. The developed nations fill their skills from these countries which then slows (more like disables) their abilities to ever achieve what you are suggesting. We SHOULD be training our own people and trying to retain our own talent as well. This point seems to get missed by all on the immigration issue. All countries whether it be us or Congo NEED to retain the talent and potential of the country to advance. Talent these days is virtually being treated like minerals were centuries back where the rich countries take it and then throw pennies back in compensation (aid) to compensate paying lip service to how their investment helps those countries when in reality they invest to make money for themselves from that country.
I won't be swearing at you. My comment was made because you have previously told us how immigration has affected things in your area whereas I have no experience of it. I was a bit annoyed I suppose that someone in the US thought they knew best about what was happening here and called people stupid. My apologies for drawing you into the debate I didn't realise you had been getting stick. For the record you're not the only Tory voter on here.
I can take the stick. Not a problem. Just don't want my differences to spill over into football. I am having many enjoyable arguments on political forums already. In my area it will take time to change but a lot of these policies quite clearly are based on them knowing what I have said because they target the exact problems I have stated. As for all the talk of holidays, pensions etc. I feel sympathy but at the same time, we can;t afford pensions or holidays up here. Need a job for that. migrants are able to fly home twice a year though. go figure. I will await all these farmer's and CEOs and others that publically went on telly all the time saying they couldn't get British workers to be scrutinised once they need workers so they can be questioned once the vacancies they are forced to advertise are filled and have more applicants than vacancies. It will smash the decade of society sneering at "Lazy Brits" just because there are a proportion that are lazy. the others were just unfortunate to be born in this country and be pretty determined that workers rights should be part of the deal. Yes maybe the country will be poorer but what more can I say. At least we will have jobs and we can start where we last were in the early eighties and try and rebuild with all these people that are unemployed (but not technically counted) getting back into work. When I open my door and back door I tend to see it similarly to the early eighties away from the "prettied up town and city centres." It reminds me of the dreary grey early eighties at the moment and has done for some time. As for the conference, very happy with virtually all of it BUT Liam Fox is a nutter. The one negative there
If Shami Chakrabarti can worm her way from SJW to a top job unelected within 2 months then I am not surprised that Blair thinks it is possible for him to make a comeback. Anything must be possible.
Stupid is kind of an international language. The US populace is not exactly wowing people with their deep intelligence at the moment. Trump is a buffoon. You all can see it without being American.
"Trump is what you get if you allow demagoguery to run unchecked, egged on by a craven media that simply enjoys the show. Brexit is what you get if you ask people a question that they lack the basic information to answer. This is the view that has been doing the rounds in the circles in which the educated move. But to think this is a big mistake. The educational divide that is opening up in our politics is not really between ignorance and knowledge. It is a clash between one world view and another." From The Guardian, Wed 5th Oct.
Short of Clinton being hit by a meteor (and even then, I'm not 100% certain), Trump is done. He should have been done eons ago -- he should have been done from the moment he descended an escalator to announce his candidacy -- but he was already in polling freefall after the last debate, and after yesterday's horrow show, his position is utterly unrecoverable. Now it's merely a question of whether he remains in the race, or bails to save the last fragments of his public persona (and set himself up for a lucrative media empire catering to the lunatics who think that Fox News is too middle-of-the-road). Thank goodness, but it's frightening how close he was. A couple weeks ago, he was neck-in-neck in the polls after an unprecedented period of a month in which he said merely appalling things. With a little discipline in the debate, and a few less skeletons in his closet, this goes down to the wire. Now, if Trump had those qualities, perhaps he doesn't emerge from the Republican primary; being an undisciplined lunatic with a lifetime of odious statements was in effect his platform, after all. But he could have gotten it together for the debate and still have been just as dangerous in the Oval Office. He could have had this tape fall down the memory hole and still been just as horrifying a person. So thanks, Donald; if you were half as clever as you believe yourself to be, your sociopathic behind might be a coin flip for president.
America is in a turmoil.........How the heck did it come down to having to choose between Clinton and Trump?.........after all the great presidents of the past they come down to this? The Russians will have a field day if either is elected.......I think I might emigrate...........Errr but where to?
Crazy as it seems don't write him off. The 'grope' interview tells us nothing new about this man. We all know what values he has, this is just a little confirmation. It will drive much Trump support underground but, come the voting, who knows. I still belive general apathy and Clinton's total lack of appeal could see him scrape home.
Simple for me at least........I don't believe she has the Karisma to stand up to the possible Russian Sabre rattling and innuendo. Where as Trump would probably wallow in it and put his foot in it and as a consequence lead to even worsening relations and even physical conflict. So no I don't rate either..............
Not sure anyone has of late on here..........but there has been remarks by a few American politicians how we in this country are stupid for some of the decisions we have made as a country. Remember in history we were stupid for entering the second world war and the USA would never enter into a war again only for them to be in the same war despite our warning a few months later. So its not the first time the kettle has called the pot black..................
Somehow I have a feeling that was down to ground intelligence and the Army Rather than anything Clinton said or did, although you are right of course....she was indeed secretary of state.
I don't worry about that too much. Clinton's pretty tough. And she's really slick as well. She's an amazingly good politician, maybe second only to her husband and Reagan. She also had hugely favorable ratings when she was Secretary of State. I don't think even the hardcore Trump supporters truly doubt her skills. Really, they hate BECAUSE she is so good and gets away doing (in their minds) terrible, corrupt things due to her skill as a politician.
